ouch, i'm glad to hear that everyone is okay though. looking at the pictures the damage is bad, but not as much as it could have been. a new RPi exhaust is probably on order eh?

That looks like an easy fix so you should be back in your M Coupe in no time! Glad to hear you are ok.

The RPI was just too loud inside the coupe and the drone was killing my ears. Since I have to hop on the freeway basically anytime I take the car out, it was taking away from the enjoyment of driving. Plus I want to do mids and headers... so I knew if the RPI was bothering me now, with the other stuff it'd be overkill. On Friday I got the first set of pics from the shop. Also got a call today that they're putting it on a rack to inspect the frame and found some additional damage... this bumps the estimate up to roughly $9/10k so far. We'll see what the final number comes in at.

Sound like the shop is doing everything to ensure the coupe can be returned to perfect condition. It is nice to see that they are taking their time to fully asses the damage.

Good luck with all the repairs! Hope she is as good as new. I don't suppose you want to sell the RPI? (How badly are they damaged)?

Update:
Car was on the rack yesterday - uses the 4 suspension points as well as a few points along the subframe to verify everything lines up. Guess it all looked good. Parts were supposed to go into paint today (Wednesday). I'm just going to run without side skirts and a rear bumper to shave additional weight MIGHT be back in my garage by the end of next week!

They've already worked it in so the insurance is covering the cost of having the RE's installed once they arrive.

Considering the stock exhaust system on an M roadster runs $2,300 retail, it it really necessary to carry a rider? The Diablo only costs $1300 at the web site I found...
Good to hear your car has relatively minimal damage. It amazes me that is a $10K repair(basically the bumper, rear qtr panel, tail light and exhaust) |

You got lucky, as I'm sure your realize by now. This could easily have been much, much worse. As long as the paint shop is good and the body man knows how to align panels properly, you should be good as new again. I'm so glad it wasn't a disaster for you.

Yeah, these cars aren't cheap to repair! I can understand why some cars are totaled when it doesn't look that serious.
