Hey guys need some help.... Im trying to work out how to put the pinch clips back in, the ones that secure the softop compartment floor to the hinge that moves up and Down, they pop out easy enought but I can't for the life of me get these back in place.... Hoping some one can help with this before I burn this car.

Thanks guys !!!

Hmmmm..
I do recall these from my roadster days, but damned if I can remember how they go.

I have done this a few times. It's easier to push them in from the top of the tray rather than from below. Open the top halfway, put them in place and use a screwdriver to push them in. I think that's how I did it last time, HOWEVER it was a year or so ago so I may not remember it correctly.

Shipkiller also had a method for this. It must be in his softtop removal thread.

With the top all the way up, get a second person to help you. One sits inside the car and puts the clips in from above, the other person tells the first when the clip is in the right spot and when it is fully seated. It will take a few minutes for the first, then the rest will be easy. Good luck.

I put that piece in storage. Along with the hinges. Dropped about 5lbs. Lol. I have the weights listed in my build thread. I had trouble getting it back in too, along with that little thing in the middle that tells the car when the tray is down

Garage List
Beedub, you need skinny arms to get them in from the top.

I had my wife do it. It took her all of about five minutes..

cheers guys, i got them in, in the end after lots of bend clips and swearing ect ect, the middle ones i sloghtly modified to allow me to fit them from under neath, with my large forearms this is nearly impossible for me to install :-) hopefully i dont need to remove this again as its a real pain in the ass and my clips are so tighly in place im sure they'll be a nightmare to remove... what a stupid ass design!!!
