That's some serious research and a fantastic write-up! I have been using TrackMaster for over a year and I love it. It has most features that full-blown timing systems offer. The only drawback is that it does not take data snapshots quite as frequently as those $1,000+ systems. For me, it's plenty good: you get lap times, segment times, track speed every second and a ton of other data to help you figure out where you might need improvement. Can't beat that for the money and ease of setup.

Yeah. But I sort of like the focused approach to TrackMaster. It'll be interesting to see how Torque's plug-ins work. I'm going to test out their own video overlay plug-in sometime soon...

Another thing I really like about Trackmaster is that the start/finish and segment points on the map are so easy to set up. Go to the track, do one session, look at the map it generates, then set up all your segment points with easy clicks.
