Ipod integration help!

Hey everyone,

I would like to install an OEM ipod kit in my Z4MC but I'm having trouble tracking down exactly which kit I need.

I have read all the material from Ron Styger and numerous links but they never seem to mention my radio options so I don't know which kit will work.

Here is what I know:
  • 2006 Z4MC
  • My car has the HiFi system professional radio with DSP (no NAV), option code S677
  • My local BMW dealership says PN 65110035961 is listed as compatible with my vehicle but no longer available.
  • In the Styger files it is implied that PN 65110035961 is for vehicles with NAV
  • On ECS tuning PN 65110035961 has been superseded by PN 65110439428
  • My local BMW dealer has stock for PN 65110439428 but shows no compatibility with my car. (in fact their computer shows no compatibility with any model, it's just a stranded part number)
  • There are no refunds on wrong parts from my BMW dealer so i want to make sure I get the right part

I realize there are other aftermarket kits available but i'm not interested in those. I had the OEM kit on my old Z4 3.0si and it worked like a charm. I hooked up a Bluetooth module to it (that I kept when I sold it) and it was perfect.

If there is anyone that can help me nail down the part number I would sure appreciate it

I don't know if this will help you or if this is the answer you are looking for but I had this installed in my 2007 Z4M coupe...I never tired my phone or an Ipod yet...just hook it up to a generic MP3 player and it works perfect.

My 2007 Z4MC came with the BMW IPOD kit installed. I removed it and installed an Intravee II with Alpine IPOD interface and HD radio. No comparison, the Intravee II is superior in every way, especially with all the extras in the extras menu. http://www.toysinyourcar.com/acatalo...V6.02-7058.pdf

What wouldn't you be interesting in an aftermarket solution if the works better that the BMS one?

I attached some docs I had for the BMW kit. ipod.pdf

Thanks for taking the time to post a pic!

The part number on the box is the same one that comes with all the kits I believe. The difference from one kit to the next is in the cable sets and harnesses. That is the same box that is coming with the kit I ordered so hopefully everything lines up. I'll have it Monday.

You are welcome. I took the pic for reference when it had stopped working upon hitting a pothole. The connectors are pretty sensitive to bumps.
