Engine build date?

Anyone know of a way to determine engine build date? I'd like to figure out if I have the new VANOS bolts without opening up the engine. Car's build date is 09/2006.

this crappy pic set is all could find, and it still doesn't show how to break down the serial into a date. i'll keep searching though...
