Silver-Gray M Coupe for sale
Hi guys, I love the M coupe...but I need something with four doors for a toddler at home. I listed my car on EBAY and will sell if the price is right. Looking to get a four door sedan - considering 2007-2008 RS4 or 2010 S4. Any thoughts on these rides? Here is the link for the M Coupe: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-M...item3f0da98ee6 Last edited by beamon; 09-07-2011 at 09:27 PM.. |

The RS4 is a beast and you'll love it. There are some carbon build up issues with the V8, so be careful about the car you buy.
I bought mine ('07 with CPO and AudiCare) in 2009 after I tried to get my then 7 month old son, his stroller and a diaper bag into my MINI Cooper S. Two of the three could fit but not, crucially, all three... which made the MINI sort of useless as a family runabout. The gas mileage won't be a big shock to you coming out of a Z4M the way it was for me. The '10 S4 has a better nav/ipod integration and gets much better gas mileage, but I think it lacks soul compared to the RS4. My son is now almost three and loves my RS4--or "Daddy's Zoom Car" as he calls it. Last edited by c615586; 08-28-2011 at 08:44 PM.. Reason: pic |

Thanks for your thoughts on the RS4. It does seem like a more fun and rare car than the newer S4. I thought that all RS4 engines were prone to carbon build-up and needed to be periodically cleaned.
Do you think it is better to buy a car where there is no history of cleaning or one with a documented carbon cleaning history? How important has the CPO warranty been in your experience? |

You're right, all the VW/Audi FSI engines are prone to carbon build-up to varying degrees. The quality of gas and your driving style are also key contributors to how quickly carbon build-up occurs. Regular "exercise" supposedly helps keep the carbon monster away. A guy I know bought an '08 with 18k and had massive carbon build-up--it turned out the previous owner used poor quality gas. I bought mine at 11k and have 21k on it now and it's still running strong, but I know it will need a cleaning soon, whether or not Audi pays for it is going to be a good guess. If I bought one now, I'd definitely want it to be a CPO car AND I'd want to make sure it had a carbon cleaning. damnit... By the time my credit shows good All the good ones will be taken or will have too damn many miles on them..
you'd think 30% down and very low D/I ratio would be enough to secure a loan... Love the car though. |

Thanks for the comments.
TriAdX: You can always trade in your 1968 Mustang Seriosuly though, if the car doesn't sell, I may hold on to it for the winter, so let me know later if you get your credit approved. Price is or best offer. |

kklin: The BMS/Magnaflow exhaust is 21 lbs lighter than the stock x-pipe and mufflers. The wheels are also significantly lighter...I did not weigh the wheels but there is definitely a big difference that I noticed when I picked up the stock wheel/tire and HRE wheel/tire. As for the next service, I assume it is service 1 which the car says is due in approx 3000 miles. The car is under warranty with free maintenance until sometime in December 2011. I had it serviced recently and they just did an oil change.

Thanks for the bump Samjam! If it doesn't sell, I'm still game to get together for a meet for the Chicago crew.

I would go with an SUV over those Volkswagons... X5? Cayenne? I would not go with a Jetta looking car. Just my opinion. Not a Volkswagon fan at all, regardless what they bring to the table. Been there done that. Two seater or no car.
SUV, done and done. I honestly would keep your M Coupe and buy an SUV. It looks really good. No need to sell. Two cars is easy if you have one paid off.

BTM: The exhaust is still on the car and will be taken off in the next 1-2 weeks. Let me know if you'd like to hear it in person. I'll probably have it taken off by A&L auto body in Palatine so we could do a swap there too if interested.
Thanks! |
