Hey Beedub where did you source the silicone elbow to go with the original plastic intake ? I desperately want to get rid of the dryer hose but don't like this "new " intake without recirculation. I thought they just had a silicon hose replace the slinky and got it from ESS ( they never mentioned needing a new plastic intake)and it was obvious it wouldn't fit lol. Seeing the new plastic portion now it makes sense lol.

I am pretty sure you can still recirculate with the new plastic elbow that came in the kit... Just don't JB weld that plug sent with the kit and keep as bypass. I sure wish I would never had vented to atmosphere. The whistle is terrible and I am still trying to figure out the best fix.

i ordered mine from a company called revotec her in the uk, its insanely expensive however, like 100 bucks per metre and guess what?? you can only have 2,5 metres!! lol!

I've got some left if u want me to send u some! :-) i won't take the piss on the price either :-), its still slinky style but quality is abp. 100x better and is used in motorsport applications. its also heat reflective and resistant to 300 deg C.

Follow-up to my new intake and blow-off valve whistle issues.
Now have a Tial QRJ valve set up to recirculate.
I won't send any sound clips as this thing is almost perfectly SILENT !
Just a barely audible "whoosh" on shifts with hard acceleration letting me know the thing is working.
A fabricator needed to make a small angle to the Greddy adapter as had clearance issues with hood.

So....after buying the new intake hose and elbow, having that installed, a new TIAL BOV and having that installed with fabricator help, I have approximately $1000 into getting rid of that f###ing annoying whistle from the old Vortech valve that was made totally intolerable when I went to venting to atmosphere....and it was worth every penny!
I can finally drive my car without annoying myself and every dog in the neighborhood.

I have a diablo with decatted S pipe and euro headers and hear no whistle on the original bypass valve routed to intake.

When i vent it with a bell, it sounds like the tial Q BOV vented to atmosphere.

I had the annoying whistle. Maybe ESS used different BPV's?

My Tial BOV is quieter below 3000 rpm, but significantly (3x) louder at high rpm. It may be a bit much for someone that tracks the car.

Latest follow-up to QRJ valve

So....still not what I want and not sure if fixable without yet another new valve.

The Tial QRJ set up to recirculate is silent.....except with WOT above 5500 RPM's when something is giving off a somewhat annoying "chirping" sound between shift points or if I just take foot off accelerator, it will chirp for about 3 seconds while RPM's drop.

So I put the QRJ to vent to atmosphere and no chirping ---- but too loud whooshing for what I want. I am not sure if it is the QRJ itself chirping when set to recirculate because it can't vent fast enough back into the inlet elbow of the supercharger ( (bigger piston than my original Vortech so maybe more air?) .....or is it that now that I am recirculating more compressed air back into the inlet, the supercharger doesn't like it and it is the source of the chirping?

Anyway, thinking about the Turbosmart valve that can be set to simultaneously vent to atmosphere and recirculate at same time. Anyone have that set up?

the dual port turbo smart has got to be one of the best valves on the market , you can run it in 3 different configurations, and its totally adjustable via the top hat turn section...

i can't lie.... i ran with mine the other day VT valve and i can barely hear the whistle tbh, i got a friend to record me outside and it sounds nuts outside, personally until its fails, i won't be replacing it.

so far jfb06m this has been a costly exercise for you.

I just wanted to report my switch over to the new intake which was far less expensive and painful . I have always hated the ghetto dryer hose portion of the intake as it was always kinked off partially bc of the angle and had poor thermal insulation . I ordered the silicone portion awhile back for 200 shipped which I quickly realized would not fit with the old molded plastic design despite them saying it would lol . To ESS credit they sent me the new plastic portion for just shipping cost . The idea of going bov was 100% non appealing to me so I just set things up to recirc into the new intake . One piece of rubber house over the smaller connection on the new intake and the larger hose from our original intake then fits ( it needs to be trimmed in length slightly ). My car builds boost much faster in the lower gears and has gained a bit up top as well as I def had a restriction . Very happy with the results power wise and its 100% ghetto whoosh and whistle free . I have the upgraded Vortech Recirc valve from ESS , see pics attached . I just installed a catch can as well .

That bypass valve looks identical to the one that came in my kit 5 years ago. Can you post the model number that is on the side of the unit? Was this some type of replacement of your original?

I am going to be well over $1k to get that damn whistle fixed and probably over $1500 to now get rid of the chirping.....and I am still stuck taking the bumper off to change the air filter. What a TFD.

It's a Vortech Maxflow valve , I had a different one with my original VT-1 kit and upgraded to this when after I switched to VT-2.
