FS: RPI exhaust, barely used ** SOLD **
** SOLD ** I have a used RPI exhaust for the Z4M that was on my car for about 3 weeks/500 miles before i took it off due to female passenger complaints. It is a great system and I would have kept it if I was single. The exhaust is in great shape. $800 local pickup in MD/DC or $850 shipped. Thanks for looking. I can't PM, please email: kenseiw@gmail.com Installed: Current pics (after they have been removed from my car): Last edited by MZFTW; 08-31-2011 at 11:33 AM.. Reason: item is sold |

Sorry, not interested in trades, selling only.
And yes, these are loud - they are prob the most aggressive sounding exhaust for the z4m. Was trying to convince gf that the sound mellows out after break in and was willing to install sound deadnening but she wasn't having it. The car is also my DD so i don't have another option. There are a few threads documenting the sound if u need more info. |

Unless the sound bothers you personally, don't sell it because your gf complains.
Everything has its pros and cons. I'd say show her more of why the Rpi makes you . Drive her through a tunnel with the windows down in second gear at the entrance, shift @ red and watch other cars slowing down/thinking wtf batman is doing in this tunnel?! She'll understand. |

My friend has one of these exhaust, he says it's the closest to a straight pipes system.
If you're single, that's the exhaust you need to buy. in the end, a proper sports car needs a proper sound, not a mellow grunt like the stock Z4M has. Stock exhaust sounds as if the car was struggling to scream. |

Well in addition to my gf, literally every female that has rode in my car has complained so i'm not sure if i just hang out very high maintenance girls.
I do love the unbridled sound that comes out of it when im in the mood for aggressive driving, but this is my DD and the sound was becoming to be bothersome during my commutes when i just wanted to relax and have a chill drive - if this was a weekend/track car I would have def kept it. |

There was some noticeable drone between 2k-3k under load at initial installation. I added a layer of dynamat xtreme in the trunk with a double layer right above the exhaust. That combined with the gradual breaking in of the exhaust greatly reduced the drone. I had them for 500 miles so they may have mellowed out more in the future. The overall volume was still high.
