Another noob question...

So, I just bought myself an '07 M Roadster - just picked up yesterday - I just love the visceral experience of this M vs my E90 M3 vs my 550! I cruised around last night with the top down with temps in the 80's - was frikkin awesome - just a feeling of newly acquired freedom - darn, I digress from my original question.
A dealer buddy of mine brokered the deal for me - he made me an offer (at cost) for $3400 to do an extended warranty (3 years or 60K miles) - he says they will cover everything besides the normal maintenance parts. The car has just on 60k miles presently and was maintained very well by the previous owner.
Thoughts on coughing up the $3.4k now for 3 years of piece of mind - or, should I roll the dice and just keep her well maintained and hope nothing major blows?

Wow, you could just about do the Vanos AND the bearings for $3400. If it was my money, I'd probably spend it on the known issues rather than the warranty...that way at least you know you got the big stuff taken care of!

How many miles will you be putting on in the next 3 years?
I would pass up on this if this is your second/leisure car and will add not a lot of miles.
Plus you were already comfortable enough to purchase the car as is so why be concerned now?
i am sure some members will chime in with their bad experience but Our cars are not known for having many issues.
Keep the money in the bank just in case but i think you will come out ahead after 3 years and/or 60k miles. (or use it for mods)

Congrats on the new purchase! Enjoy the car and post some pics!

Thanks - I don't see myself doing more than 4-5K miles a year - I do have the car in San Antonio, which is more conducive to top down motoring, but I only spend a max of 2 weeks a month in TX.
I did post this in a previous post - although the previous owner said he did the INSP II himself, I'm getting it redone + valves at an indie shop for ~$1500. About mods, my gf says this car is so quiet - she's comparing it to the Stasis Challenge on my S4 - I just thought to myself, just wait sweetie - give me a few months...
