Exclamation New Clutch Disaster please help!!

Had a new clutch installed brand : LUK
changed clutch slave cylinder

shift great for about 100 km
now wont shift gears when engine is on
can shift when turned off and can start in gear but then stuck in that gear

bled it over and over though air was in there but no luck

Any ideas what could be going on ?
weird part is it drove like new for about 100-120km. shifted beautifully and pedal felt normal

Sounds like clutch isn't disengaging.

First stuff to eliminate would be more air that might be in the system. Especially since you replaced the slave. This would make sense b/c you were able to drive it for ~100km. Is the pedal mushy at all? You indicated there was air already in the system- if some of this worked into the cylinder, then it could be stuck there and could cause the issue.

Second possible thing- are you sure the clutch pedal is properly adjusted? If the clutch point shifted, then again the clutch may not be disengaging.

Third- something broke inside or the assembly that disengages the clutch and flywheel somehow has come apart. The last time you drove it- did something seem off? If any of the bearings disintegrated, you would've probably noticed it!

Eliminate the first two first. If problem persists, then let us know and we can go further.

If you got this job done from somewhere, did you give them a call? Are they reputable?

good luck

WHS. My bet is the slave which I replaced on the track car and they had to bleed it at 3 different times after driving.

If you shift into a 1st gear when the car is turned off, with clutch pushed in, you start the car, does car not move as long as the clutch is pushed in? When you let the clutch out, can you drive the car in 1st gear? If yes, then the clutch is working properly.

BTW, if the clutch was not disengaging the engine from the trans when pushing the clutch in, then trying to shift into gear would make grinding/crunching sounds.
