Arrow A Little Bit Of Left Coast Love (ZPost Exclusive)

Haven't had Emma out for a long distance trip in years. Thought I'd finish the Summer off by doing just that... enjoying what the West Coast has to offer!

Enjoy!

Views from Astoria

View of Cannon Beach

Ecola State Park

Manzanita Lookout

Cape Meares State Park

Yaquina Head Lighthouse

Newport City... what an awesome city for it's views, good eats and it's hospitality

Umpqua Lighthouse

Bandon Ocean Wayside, a jewel of a place!

Battle Rock Park

Redfish Restaurant - This place just opened up 2 months ago, and the food is upper class!

Arch Rock

Samuel Boardman Park

Hey, it's Paul Bunyan and Babe!

Got to see all the cheezy Drive-thru trees on the way through the Redwood forest

Had some extra time for lunch at the Francis Ford Coppola Winery

Hey... it's Skelekitty's whip!

On the swing back towards home, we detoured towards the Oregon Caves

And the finale... Hunting Emma.

Hey Rick, great shots! The Oregon and Norcal coasts are so beautiful!

We did that same trip down the coast, but it was back in the pre-sports car days. We have to do it again in a proper red car!

Good shots

Great job with the photography. Obvious that you know your way around a camera. That's my job. My wife and I had taken a trip that concluded with coming down the US 1 but had inclement weather the whole time, it was still beautiful. Love you car and the twins...what can I say about two red heads.

Damn, I'm jealous! Every year we make a trip out to the left coast and I'm stuck driving a POS Dodge Caliber or some other crappy rental So many great roads and great scenery out there, you guys are very lucky. As always, great shots Rick and the car looks pristine.

Just know that it's a slippery slope like a car! You start off with a nice high end model, then you want this lens, that lens, and a tripod, and another tripod, and a lightbox, and....

On a more serious side, it looks like you have an eye for composure and for post processing. Kick it up a notch with a nice 35mm 10 or 12 MP and you'd have some fun. Ask Skelekitty about things before you buy--there are some cameras that can use any kind of 35mm lens, whereas others have a proprietary lens system which drives up the cost of additional lenses....

I'm slowly working on putting together a batch of shots from the trip. Hopefully next week will have it all done.

Thanks! I've always wanted to do some sort of shot of the car in front of graffitti or murals such as the one shown. Bay Street in Newport has a few buildings with different murals, and it would have been nice to take more shots, but we were running late for dinner AND the lighting was getting crappier as the sun went down.

Thanks for the advise! I am blessed to have a Professional Photographer brother that offers no-nonsense critiques that help me hone my skills as an amateur. I'd love to get good enough to do it professionally, but I just don't have the capital or time to really make it a priority.
