Yep. I should run a spectrum analyzer in my car this weekend. Drone is really bad between 2K-3K RPM, whatever range that relates to.

A droning exhaust system works something like a single note pipe organ.
When it hits a certain frequency (e.g. ~125 Hz), it rings out loud and causes what is known as drone.
So the idea of an anti-drone product is to tune in to 'that' frequency and convert that energy to another form to cancel out the drone.

Drone is not just noise or a loud exhaust.
Good explanation.

But wouldn't that mean that each unique combination of header/section1/xpipe/muffler creates a different tone and would (potentially) require a unique anti-drone device to suppress it?

Yes, but rather than unique devices or each, DKF is creating one that is tuneable (adjustable) for different system frequencies.

I have the exact same experience. Loved my Stromungs. I was worried about rasp with the headers but it's actually the drone that's killing it.

Consider me interested as well. Between this and some foam or dynamat in the rear, maybe I can salvage my current setup.

Had an email the other day; design drawings are being worked on.
I'll get them posted as soon as they're done.
It probably wont happen until the Section 1 GB is all wrapped up.

In! Loved my RPIs but the drone with headers was crazy. Wish I could get the loud without the drone...

can you at least say if it's gonna be something like a helmholtz (sp?) resonator? Or what the install would involve?

No it will not be a helmholtz resonator.
It will be a clamp on device.

I have the RPI and I did something similar to this by welding two J pipes on the X pipe. I will post pictures later. The drone from 2-3k is completely gone!

I did that on a local muffler shop for $200.
