I bought mine 3 years ago from another member here who hated it and I love it! FWIW I am not as tall as Pungo or Schwank as I am only 5' 14" so that may make a difference

I would be a little concerned putting double sided tape on carbon leather and then trying to get it back up years later. I'm curious what others have to say with first hand experience.

If it were me, I'd put 2-3 strips of tape at the back were it sits on smooth plastic, and just use some thin rubber toward the front where sit on the carbon leather. That 3M body molding tape is really strong, especially if heated before applying.

I can't comment on carbon leather but I remove mine all the time. Tape comes right off without any residue. You can get the tape at an auto paint store. It's 3M Body Tape. I find all kinds of uses for it.

what about the ones on the door panel? have you ever removed those? my car came with them but they are starting to come up, and i'm afraid of what's underneath.

You mean you have the leatherZ door arm pads and the tap is pulling loose? I have removed mine and reinstalled them a few times. Just carefully work the tape loose (don't just yank cause you might bend the pad). Then remove the old tap, put some new tape on, and re-stick.

The best way to get the body tape to stick (and stick HARD) is to install the piece and then put LOTS of wait/pressure on it (push HARD) for about 30 seconds. This usually bonds it solid. The tape package says do not install below some temp (want to say 70 degrees but don't remember).

yes, the door arm pads. i'm actually wanting to remove them permanently, but I don't want to in case the tape has left a dark stain underneath...what did yours look like? did the tape leave marks in any way?

I had one on my 6-speed (ZHP knob) coupe and it never bothered me. I'd say it was among my favorite mods making the car more comfortable for long trips.

I'm thinking about getting one of these armrests for my Z4M. Does anyone have pictures of a red or black armrest with an imola red interior / M sport seats?

I'm torn whether a red one would be too much red.

Purchased one used on here and it has been sitting in the garage since. I put it in the car and it just bugs my arm. I should sell it on here. it is Imola red I think silver base.
