Installed a new shifter knob

Got one of the F10 performance carbon fiber and Alcantara shift knob with boot. A real pain in the butt to glue it to the ring. I'm not sure but I think the F30 ring is smaller than the F10 one I got so you would have less fabric to deal with. I had to make a small fold at the base to fit the fabric around the ring. But regardless I think it looks pretty cool.

I've been debating doing this knob for a while. It does look great with the carbon trim.

Love it...but the major question I have is...How does the Alcantara wear over time compared to normal leather? I mean, how would I clean it as it gets touched the most (other than the steering wheel)? Seems very difficult to clean and keep clean?

Maybe wearing gloves when driving can help?

i have had the bmw performance 6 speed knob () on my car for the last 2 years, just make sure you don't jump in with greasy fingers/hands.. mine still looks new.
also i used the e46 alacantra shift boot, fitted perfect.. (a bitch to put on though, but no real drama)

are you sure you can't get rid of that fold buy putting the frame a little closer to the centre?

looks great mate, and bet you love the way it shifts now, much, much more positive than before enjoy.
