Grr... Rearended

I was stopped for a light and a Cadillac was also stoped behind me. I happened to glance in my mirror to see a Dodge Nitro coming very very quickly from behind, so I gunned it into the left lane, but I didn't move quick enough as the Nitro blasted the Cadillac at probably 45 mph. She got knocked out and swerved into the left lane too without her foot off the brake, so she bumped me. The only reason I didn't suffer more damage was that I was will moving with my foot on the gas.

Her car was demolished, the front doors didn't open and they had to extract her from the back. She was also in some serious pain. They ended up strapping her to one of those back injury stretchers. Her car was so badly hit that the passenger front fender was crumpled, even though she never got hit there.

The guy who hit her was pretty shaken up, so I really didn't say anything negative to him.

Bonus for me. I just finished detailing it for the winter

Double bonus for me. I have new M5 reps and tires to go on, too.

Ow, that sucks. Looks like a new bumper, rear fender, and taillight, so not too bad. I'd insist on a BMW-certified shop for the repairs. The downside of our cars being comparatively scarce is few places will have worked on one.

Yeah, I'm going to call my dealer to find out where they have repairs done.

I'm absolutely shocked by all the crap that is behind the bumper there. Pretty much all the various plastic parts have to be replaced. The tire tore them up pretty good

I dunno, he told the cops he just took his eyes off of the road. As we were sitting there waiting for the cops a guy drove by and screamed "A Beemer and a Caddy, dude your fscked!"

Haha... shoulda hit something a little cheaper right? Sucks about the car but at least you were paying enough attention to get out of the way a little bit!

I'm in a no-fault state, so it's all my insurance. Either way, I have a $0 deductible for broad collision.

My big concern will be the bumper. God knows how long it will take to get a new one.

no fault state? How does that work? That doesn't seem like it would be very safe just because it give people jut about no incentive to drive safely.

The bumper should not take very long to get in.

If everyone cared about their cars as much as we do there would be no need to worry about getting door dings or having people hit your car as they were walking by.
