I emailed Rogue and was told this project got put on the backburner. I guess I'll be going OEM when I install my coilovers

^ I figured as much.
That's too bad, this something that is definitely needed for our cars.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Powerflex does not manufacture an offfset bushing, required for the Z4M CABs.
Their bushings only fit the regular (= non-M) Z4.

You could use the center bushing but this would change your caster... It I think it would increase caster. What it would do to the scub angle I am not sure.

On person on this board has done this....I just don't remember and I am too lazy to do a search this morning.

Powerflex should have a solution out by now. Last time I spoke to them (september) they told me that there should be a Z4M version (Z4 non-M is different) out by the end of the October. I installed the rears back in August, so I'm waiting for the fronts now.

I'd buy a set as well if they made them. I'll shoot them an email to ask where they are with this.

There just arent enough of these cars for anyone to actually make a profit. I was going to have some built for all of us to enjoy with a higher durometer rating and it was going to cost about $8,000 just to have the mold made. Its not like I'd be selling thousands a year so it just isn't worth it.

Following the posts of user Shipkiller in the thread "Z4M left front lower control arm", I remembered that I have in the garage a used (but still re-useable) Z4M front control arm. Unfortunately, the control arm bushing (CAB) is installed and I didn't want to ruin it by removing the CAB from the control arm finger (pintal).

The control arm finger has a hexagonal shape, with two particularities:
- rounded corners;
- one extended diagonal (marked with blue color in the picture).

Therefore, as the above picture shows, I could only measure the distance "a" using a caliper. Note that a caliper it's not so precise as a micrometer, the position was not optimal, and the temperature was around 0 deg. C. Consequently this measurement should be only considered as "indicative", until a precise one will be taken.
From a= 21mm one can calculate the theoretical circle that the hexagon inscribes in: radius= 12.125mm, diameter= 24.25mm. Note that these values are calculated starting from an imprecise measurement.
Unfortunately, I had no way to take reasonable measurements of the extended diagonal ("b" in the picture above).

As Shipkiller suggested, since there are no aftermarket CABs for Z4M, a possible solution may be to use offset CABs for E36 M3. But those have a round hole, instead of a hex one.
If the Z4M control arm finger is large enough, then maybe it can be machined down to fit the E36 round hole CABs. Of, if the finger is too smal, then maybe a sleeve can be inserted over the Z4M control arm finger.

RobertRO,

Thanks for the information. The measurement does not really have to be that precise. Your 21mm measurement is good enough to make some educated guesses on fitment, once I (we) get some more data. In fact you could have taken measurements of the other axis and those might have been good enough also..

If anyone is still waiting for a company to design, develop and test a new set of FCAB’s you are on drugs and need a piss test. I do not believe this will ever happen since there is such a small number of cars that would actually buy a set. No profit in it.
