Storage Compartment

Hi guys/girls,

I've just bought my first Z4 (a 2005 2.2i) and have a noddy question you may be able to help with!!

The storage compartment between the seats; should it lock with the central locking? Mine doesn't and I'd like to know if it's a fault or if it was only an option for this model. If it's a fault, then I'll can get it fixed under warranty but if not, I think I'll have to stash my booty in the boot(trunk).

I think there's a difference between the roadsters and the coupés, no? Roadies... can anyone confirm?

My Zed doesn't even have a locking mechanism for the central compartment.

mine locks with central locking, it was a dealer set feature as it didn't come from the factory set like that

sort of like how they can turn on/off DRL's, they can set that compartment to lock (on the early cars anyways)

Should add that mines a roadster.

Ward..that's interesting...the manual 'suggests' that it locks...would be handy when parking with the roof down.

I'll pay a visit to the dealer (although they'll prob charge a fortune for setting it)

Yes, I have a roadster and the central storage comparment does lock. The gas cap/flap locks as well.

Definitely some good feature to have for Roadster guys that like to leave their top down. I personally always put it up cause I'm beyond paranoid but it would definitely help lessen my paranoia. I think my locks as well, I'll have to double check.
