retrofit options

does anybody know of things to retrofit on their z that didnt come with certain options,

like power folding mirrors,

I know of the GPS and sirius and headlight washers and SI break convertions but just wondering what else is out their, I did some searches and didnt really come up with much.

I would like to add the folding mirrors as where i live the parking is tricky and people keep bumping the mirrors!

thanks guys!

Sort of an open-ended question there, buddy. Pretty much browse a Z4 catalog for your year and see what you don't have that you're interested in. The power folding mirror retrofit is a grand or so, ditto the nav, and we're talking just the parts. The only simple additions are hardtop kit, AUX in port and, for pre-facelift models, cruise control.

It's always better to decide on your options before you get the car - yes, the more speicifc you are the longer and wider the search will be, but it's always easier and cheaper when it's all said and done.

yea I know, problem is that when i bought mine in 06, they didnt have the power folding mirrors, car-part.com I can find the power folding mirror motors for less than 200 bucks but i wasnt sure if you could do it as I didnt find a DIY post so i didnt know, on my MINI cooper S I have added over 4 years of upgrades as I bought it in 02 and they made a whole slew of upgrades, same as my A6, upgraded the MMI and a bunch of other things not offered at the time when I boght it but I really enjoy adding these upgrades, I have the SI brakes to replace the 3.0I 300mm setup but need some time in the day to takle that..

speaking of brakes does anybody know of a DIY on removing the wheel bearings, I need to take off the brake sheilds as the rotors are an inch bigger so i need to replace the 300mm sheilds with the 325mm sheilds and heard its a bear to change.

Search on Bimmerfest, in the Z4 section. Ron Stygar added power folding mirrors to his Z4M and did a thorough write-up.

Ahh maybe I was using the wrong wording I was typing "power folding mirror" and nothing oh well !

thanks so much!

Just looked it over and it has the part numbers for the install but no clear DIY write up .....

No big deal I will just hold off on that one for a bit..
Thanks again
