Removing track day rubber from paint

This may be something that you guys have already discovered, but I found a new (to me) easy way to get track rubber off the paint.

I had been doing the clay bar thing up to now, but found it painfully tedious.
I happened to have a spray bottle of citrus degreaser sitting on the bench (bought for another purpose) and thought; what the hell, & gave all the rubber marks a spritz to pre soak.
....also zapped all the glued on bugs.

I was surprised when I started washing that the rubber lifted right off with little to no extra effort.
Turned my track day cleanup into little more than a normal wash

The product I used was just a generic citrus degreaser that I picked up at Home Depot.

I can confirm. I used Goo Gone and it made the job much easier.

We used to smear Vaseline on the rear quarters during my drag racing days.

Bit messy but nothing stuck. Might not be the best idea thinking about it if it were to get on the tire tread

Will the citrus degreaser strip your wax as well?

Not sure, Probably, but so does clay bar.
I always put on a fresh layer of sealant prior to a track day. (I don't use wax)

I find that the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser with lots of lubricant like Final Inspection, Quick Detailer, or concentrated car wash soap takes track rubber off without a swirl or scratch. Use light pressure and rub gently; magically the track rubber disappears.

I use Turtle Wax bug and tar remover. Let it soak awhile.

WD-40. It is about 1 molecule away from kerosene. No paint damage and it removes the stuff easily. Old concours trick. You could also use 3M Adhesive Remover. That works well also. I keep both on the shelf.
