2C31?

O2 sensor..

what would be the tell tale signs of this? i am asking as my car runs beautifully smooth atm… only strange thing I've noted in the last few weeks is the increase in oil temp, roughly sitting about 115degrees.. where as the centre is 100 on mine…

possibly related?

2C31 lambda probe front catalyst, trimm control

print out of the falt codes..

Thanks for reminding me. It seems like my oil has been running a little hotter this summer than last.
I've been meaning to have a peep at the oil cooler, but I wanted to do it at night when the Sun's not in my eyes.
Then every night I get a couple of beers in me and forget.

Just had a look and, sure enough, every other hole has a little pebble in it.
Souvenirs from the Mojave.
Guess I'll be pulling the bumper cover this weekend so I can flush it from behind.

You may want to check yours. Brotha from anotha desert.

Thanks Stick, ill surely do that mate, front bumper coming off over the next few weeks with the CSL intake install.. ill change oil too, failing that, the O2 sensor, and failing that ill turn the brake cooling slots on the front bumper into split/dual oil cooler slots.

but yeah , fingers crossed its just crap in the oil cooler fins.. and flushing from behind is a great idea mate, thanks..

lol thanks man, yeah gotta love the desert.. but ill take about 20degress C less than what it was yesterday.

20C LESS?! I just did the conversion on my weather app and 20C less would be damn near freezing temps up here. It's been anywhere from 22-29C (70's-mid 80's F) here and about 15C (about 60F) at night. Still feels too hot to me. I don't know how you guys can live in the desert.

I actually live in the Valley, but work in the desert 3-4 times a month.
I wouldn't want to live there.
Too cold in the winter!!

just looking at the option guys, if it is 2C31, which O2 sensor is it? anyone got a part number?

just had a further look, on the N54, this behaviour leads you to this..

2C31 - Lambda probe in front of catalytic converter, trimming control Typically caused by the wrong O2 sensors in the wrong downpipe or a major exhaust leak. Grey wire loom goes to the back pipe, black wire loom goes to the front pipe.

is it possible ive got a exhaust leak?

My Peake Research booklet says:
"2C31 PreCat O2 sensor trim control, Bank 1"

So that's pre-cat cylinders 1-3.

Here's what I bought off Amazon:
Bosch 15168 Oxygen Sensor
Banks 1 and 2 use the same sensor.

For sake of completeness:
Post-cat Bank 1: Bosch 15138 Oxygen Sensor
Post-cat Bank 2: Bosch 13951 Oxygen Sensor

Stick, pre cat is this one right, but I think you guys have your pre cats else where..
I wonder, like the egt fiasco I had last year if the sensors for this are also different with euro spec to usa spec.

I believe euro sensors have longer leads on them because of the location.
Other than that I think the sensors are the same.

Sensors are definitely a maintenance item as our cars age.
