anyone use stoptech bbk for Z4M? possible group buy?

Anyone have any experience with any of the stoptech BBKs for the Z4M's? I was looking into trying a group buy here. At what price range would everyone be interested? What are you finding them retailing for? I am looking to replace my fronts at least with something better and these seem to be a pretty great deal and have heard a lot of good things about stoptech.

Feel, initial bite , & pedal modulation.
They don't stop you any quicker, but damn! They do feel good.
& on the track they do it all day long without changing.

JMO, but I'm Not a fan of front only setups.
I have 6/4 set up which was about $5 large.

With more than 1 piston the whole braking of the car will change.

A lot of us are looking at the PU upgrade from the recent RB group buy. But you might get a group going for these--it's a really nice setup! My buddy has these on his E46 M3 .

Bump it up a few times and see what happens!

i saw this thread/group buy. it is a nice alternative to stock but im looking for something a little more aggressive i guess. both stock and the RB rotors are expensive so i figure just use that towards a whole BBK

What is the weight difference when compared to OEM? I would suspect the loss of this unsprung weight would make a huge difference in the car, especially around the track.

With the larger rotors it's a net zero. (aprox)

Don't buy it from turner. It's about $1200 bucks overpriced. Thmotorsports has a full kit starting at $4500. Same kit at turner starts at $5700

Check crfine's thread for weights. inTgr8r is right: overall you lose 3 lbs, fronts are lighter, rears are heavier.

I bought the Performance Friction Z45/Z29 BBK to reduce the unsprung weight in the rear. I had the ST40 on 4 corners on my E46 M3 and I think the rear are too big/heavy for the task. I think a 320mm x 28mm can do the job instead of the 355mm x 32mm.

If 332mm x 32mm rear are available from Stoptech fro the E46 M3/Z4M platform, I think it could be an option to consider. I think they have the ST22 calipers available but you won't be able to switch pads front and rear.

+1 – BBK’s make a difference-- agree with inTgr8r completely- for best overall consider the Cool Carbon pad upgrade for the Stoptech setup--- we offer both- great combination
