Polished my knob or My Review of the AS SSK & Jaffster
Okay, not what you think you filthy animals....
For some ungodly reason Finnegan decided that he didn't need 2 Z4MC's in his family and parted out the BSM beauty. That meant I was now the proud owner of an Autosolutions SSK. I decided to DIY the install despite reading all up on the "Spawn of Satan" clip. Kudos to those of you that did it without dropping the drive shaft. After 30 mins of unsuccessful attempts, I dropped the drive shaft and the rest was cake. First let me say that the AS SSK is a super solid kit. I would put this in my top 5 mods for value per buck! The gates are super crisp! I had picked up a ZHP knob from Tischer way back when they had a sale and was very happy with it until the SSK upgrade. Now it just seemed "off". Being comfortable with my sexuality, I took the plunge. I ordered the Jaffster from Bimmerworld. Now, this knob isn't for everyone, but I'll tell you it is for every AS SSK. The combination of added height and the shortened throws just made it a breeze to row through the gears. 10/10 would do again! (except I'd drop the drive shaft and not try to mess with Satan) And now for some compromising photos... (apologizes for crappy phone photos)

Congrats! The AS SSK is definitely one of my favorite mods. I ended up being able to install mine without dropping the driveshaft. I had a ZHP knob before the change and switched back to the original knob for the same reason you did.

LOL, and I'm glad you're enjoying it! It's very solidly engineered piece, and if you can get around the look the Jaffster completes the connection to the gearbox nicely.

I have this same exact setup and its truly awesome. If you top it off with the mason engineering pedal it'll be even better. Then you don't even need the clutch stop.
