Graph of Mileage

Was updating some service records, and I thought I'd make a graph of date vs mileage. I log ever mod, repair, and maintenance item in a table in Word, so I had all this data in an easy to use format.

You can see a 6 month period where I was commuting 100 miles each way a few days a week as a sharp upward turn in the graph. Poor M Roadster In March 2016 I leased a Jetta for a new job I started where I had a permanently shitty commute, the mileage after that pretty much flatlines.

I bought the car with ~52k miles on it, thats where my records start. The data points before that are from Carfax recorded service events.

That's pretty cool. I'll have to try it when I get back from COTA (woo-hoo!!).
Have all my service in Excel, so easy-peasy, but too tired now.

Would have been over 200,000 by now if it hadn't been off the road after an accident* and replaced as a daily driver with a diesel Alfa.

Even using it as my one & only car (including track days, ring trips, winter driver [only mild winters here]) it was never what I'd call expensive to run. My e34 M5 was much more expensive doing the same workload.

It's done 2000 miles in the months since I've had it back - and it's off to the 'Ring for a week shortly.

* aquaplaned after another driver pulled out and slammed on...and then spent 6 months getting it repaired (poorly) by the insurer...6 months arguing about stuff that wasn't fixed or not fixed correctly (e.g. hardwiring the brake pad sensor, door that wouldn't lock, inoperative handbrake, upside-down suspension, etc.)...and another 6 months actually getting it fixed properly.

Man,
That was some serious BS having to fight the insurance company to make the proper repairs. Sorry you had to go through it.

Regards,
Ken
