Well I got the Diablo for less then MSRP courtesy of Nate at IND.
Hopefully it arrives soon! Went over to the shop on Thursday... three issues - They scratched my driver's door tint (not bad, but it'll need to be replaced). The problem is there are no FormulaOne dealers in Michigan; the nearest is 80 miles away in Ohio. I insisted on having it replaced with the same film because first off, I want the film color/level to match all around the car, and two, because that's what I paid to have installed on the car when I got it, so why would I want to drive around with one window covered in an inferior film - The rubber window trim on the driver quarter window was scratched/knicked from the accident. I caught this... but they said it's all one piece with the glass. So they have to replace that entire window – now I definitely want the FormulaOne film done. - At some point while the car was there, they dented my front bumper. It looks like a floor jack handle swung up and put a perfect circle right on the leading edge of the drivers side kidney grill cutout. This is the thing that's really pissing me off, considering it was damage incurred WHILE AT THEIR SHOP. Obviously they're going to fix it, repaint and re-clear-bra the bumper. But the guy I had do the bra in Arizona did a great job and I'm worried this guy won't be at the same level. They're now saying I should have it back by the end of next week.

The shop-induced damage would really get to me as well. I mean, you're there to get the car fixed, not to have more damage "installed".
Hopefully it's just an isolated incident and not indicative of their overall level of work. |

Sorry to hear about the additional damage. Sometimes sitting in a body shop is more dangerous to it's condition than driving it around. As far as them pushing back the "ready" date, that is their standard operating procedure.

Glad you'll finally get your car back. At least you are catching the damage now instead of after leaving... then they could just deny fault.
Hopefully yhe work is up to par with what you had previously!

Sounds like you're getting close
The one issue that would bother me the most is the shop damage. ...not so much that it would happen, more the fact nothing was done about it. Since you've been through a couple of systems, I look forward to your impressions on the RE Diablo.

Well... after 33 days, she's back home. Still waiting on the exhaust ( COME'N RE! I WANT MY EXHAUST!), and having a FormulaOne tint dealer in Canada ship some film to the shop to redo the driver door and rear quarter window. I have to admit, I was kinda hesitant to pick the car up; worried that it wouldn't be the same as it was pre-accident. Worried that I'd push it and the suspension would collapse or something crazy. Took it out this weekend and man did I miss this car. It's such a blast to drive and it's like it was 5 weeks ago... well, a bit quieter, but that'll change soon enough! I'll probably just wait till after the exhaust arrives to get some good post-repair pics.

Congrats on getting your car back!!! I can understand the joy of having gotten your car back! Hopefully I will have mine back by this Tuesday. Having driven a chevy impala for the last 3.5 weeks has SUCKED and it has renewed my love for my Z4MC (not that there was any lost) Enjoy!!! Can't wait for your write up on the exhaust. I have been eyeing the diablo for a while.
