I need some opinions on price.
A co-worker is looking at used Z4 Roadsters. One is a 2007 3.0i.
He as driven the 3.0 and likes it........ a lot..... The other is a 2006 ///M Roadster. He will not drive it until he knows if it is a good deal or not. He knows if he drives it he will buy it..... Take a look at the link and tell me what you think. http://www.caseybmw.com/preowned-inv...16LY52355.aspx |

As the mileage is pretty high for the M, I'd say $25k is about as much as I'd pay for it.

I agree, its high for the mileage.
...common color, base premium, no navi. 25 - 25.5 K depending on condition sounds about right. Mike519 just picked up a 06 Sepang with half that mileage & navi for ~$28.5

This is what I call "Dealership Impulse Pricing":
Basically, on unique or rare car, dealerships will slap a very high price on a car in hopes that someone will be walking by and have to have the car on impulse without doing their homework. |

My Interlagos Blue '06, with 31,810 miles and carbon leather trim, extended leather, nav, heated seats, and iPod adapter was $288 less ($28,600) from a dealer.
I looked at an almost identical car to mine from a private buyer, but it didn't have the extended leather or iPod adapter. It had around 62,000 miles, but it also had curb rash on all four rims, worn thumb rests on the steering wheel, and a broken cup holder, and she wanted $24K. If the interior and exterior are in good condition and the service history is good, the only thing it really has against it is the relatively high mileage. I would say $25K max if it's in as good a shape as it looks, less if not.

I wouldn't discount the price myself due to their being no Nav (that's a plus in my book), but I don't think it has heated seats, which are really nice for early in the year and late in the year top-down motoring. PPI is, of course, highly recommended. |

And if the OP doesn't buy this one and keeps looking, get heated seats. I would certainly second the statement that heated seats are a must have.

I convinced him that he did not want an ///M. He wanted more of a commuter car (better gas mileage) but he wants a Z4.
So, I found another 2007 3.0i with 22K miles with most of the options (no nav, plus in my book also)for $16K. It has imola leather inside and ///M seats. The only thing he does not readily like is the imola leather... He and the owner are talking now.... |

Based on the information below, he got a heckuva deal on the '07 3.0! I find it interesting that your friend was even considering spending almost $30K for a car.

$29k... too much
That's what I paid 2 years ago for my 06 MR with 15k miles, 3 months left on CPO, and a 5 year extended warranty. Bruce Burke, VA |

Mine is a MUCH better value.

The car I found is being delivered to his house this weekend for inspection. I think the dealership wants the car off the lot.
