ive thought about it, just not a big fan of the idea that if you purchase either dinan's or comforti's software, it is not transferrable. I'd like to be able to sell it afterwards if let's say i sold the car or decided i didn't like it.

I don't even think I'd be happy long-term with a z4m after this. I'm sure the power would hold my interest for a while, but I'm getting tired of the z4 line of cars in general.

I'm not sure 'bored' is the word. I had a Miata before the Z that I had modded to the max. Suspension, turbo, extensive frame strengthening, etc. I miss not being comfortable "messing" with the motor and stuff. And there is nothing as exilerating as when a turbo kicks your butt back in the seat coming out of an S curve! Maybe I just baby the Z too much....

I drive my Z4 M only on weekends. I have a M3 for weekdays. By the time Saturday rolls around I can't wait to get into the Z. By the time Monday rolls around, I'm eager to drive the M3 because it's fun too, and not because the Z isn't. Twice a week it's like Christmas all over again!

I can honestly say after 3 years of ownership that i will never sell this car. I only plan to add to my stable and the ///M Coupe will be a permanent fixture. Its an instant classic that i bought and pick up from the factory, and its my first car that taught me the intricacies of driving fast. I get plenty of seat time in other fast cars, but i still love the feeling of sitting IN and not on my car. I think the ///M coupe will continue becoming a more focused and sorted track car, while my next big purchase will more than likely be something along the lines of a 997 TT with lots of go fast goodies! |

2008 M Roadster
I always have my eye on something else don't tell my wife. I must admit the 2010 Corvette Gran Sport has turned my head but I know there will never be another M roadster. I think I would regret trading it in. It's special and something tells me years from now I will still feel the same way.

Concerning a Z4m and a M3. The 0-60 times can be the same, maybe the 3 a little faster. The 1/4 mile can be the same. The lap time can be the same. The 165mph top speed can be the same. BUT, sitting in the middle of the wheels versus sitting on the back wheels with a mile of hood in front of you just doesn't feel the same! Bring on the long hood!!

I just got my 2003 3.0i and I love it. I'm pretty sure I'd only upgrade to a Z4M in a few years or an e46 M3. but now that I got a taste of a real 2 seater I can't let it go.
maybe when I get older the stiff ride will become annoying but so far it's what I call "awakening" |

I just bought my Alpine White 2006 Z4MR about 5 months ago and have put under 1,000 miles since I bought it. I just drive it on the weekends so the "newness" has yet to remotely wear off although I do wish I would have bought an Alpine White Coupe instead. I have a 2008 Acura TSX that I am leasing for my wife as well as an 2007 Infiniti FX35 that is my daily driver so with those other two vehicles in my garage I just drive this when the weather conditions are really good.
The other cars I was looking at before this was: 2006 Porsche Carerra 4S 2008 Porsche Cayman S 2006 Dodge Viper Convertible 2007 Corvette Z06 2006 Aston Martin Vantage 2006 Maserati Gran Sport All of these have their positives but the insurance was quite a bit higher as was the price tag. I figured my Z4MR was a great "entry level" exotic. I can't see myself keeping this car for years and years but for now, I love it and the fun factor is great. My car gets tons of looks wherever I go. There aren't that many Z4M coupes or roadsters around. |
