DKF Hanger Installation Tips: 2008 Z4MR
This is a quick edit to my previous post below...I just got off the phone with Giovanni and the guys from DKF. They are working diligently to help me solve my install issue. At first, it looked like I installed the hanger backwards, then there was the possibility that my OEM hangers were different from the models they used to build their DKF hanger. We have spent quite a bit of time texting pictures back and forth and talking on the phone. The issue isn't resolved yet, but they are working hard to figure it out. At any rate, my original post is below if you want to look at the pictures and review my install challenges. I decided to install the new DKF hangers on my old Diablo cans since my new Remus can were not cooperating (long story). After tinkering with the new hangers, I am still not able to get them aligned very well. It looks like the slot on the new DKF hangers doesn't align very well in comparison to the hole on the old stock OEM hangers. See image: The DKF slot doesn't allow for forward and backward movement, therefore I am not able to protrude the tips out very far from the bumper. This also causes some lateral torque on the Isolator (see picture). Also, even though the slot allows for vertical movement, the highest adjustable setting is lower than the OEM hanger's hole (leaving the cans too low on the car). I installed the DKF hanger on the right side and kept the OEM hanger on the left side so I could photo the difference. Clearly, the DKF hanger on the right hangs much lower than the OEM hanger on the left.

This might not be what u want hear but I think ur whole exhaust might be miss aligned. And can be causing problems with the remus cans as well, just give me a call when possible and I can discuss some check points u can check to see about this theory.

Guys please do not attempt to install this hangers until we can figure out if we had a manufactory mistake. We will be going to the manufactory tomorrow to address the problem and if we confirm that we have a defect we will ship each of you a new hanger with no cost to you! we will also speed up production on this to have it to you as quick as possible.

well..... heres my take on the situation... shit goes wrong, here we have a company thats held its hands up and dealt with an issue quickly and swiftly with no arguments or bullshuit.... i do think the finished items should have been installed on a car to double check them BUT.... lesson learned and i know DKF will never have an issue like this again, its always difficult when your at the mercy of third party contractors, but for me, im not particuarly fussed by this error and i recieved my letter by dkf quickly.... i actually dont think they could have handled this any better imo... this will put their group buy profit to shit for a small compnay like this...
ok so i read the letters DKF and i think its pretty clear this first batch were incorectly produced, thanks for keeping me updated and thanks for holding your hands up immediately..... errors will always happen, its about how the errors are handled... imo of course..... Is this a pain in the ass?? Yes, but trust me its a bigger pain for these guys!!!
