Z4 cover?

Hello,

I am looking for a cover to use when storing my Z during the winter months. I have found the BMW outdoor car cover and I am wondering if anyone has anything positive or negative to say about it. Any and all feedback will be welcomed.

Thanks,

FDR

I use my BMW Z4 cover for winter storage inside in my garage and I find it well suited to that.

I presume you plan to store your car inside?

Garage List
I have the BMW Z4 cover but I use it to keep the dust off my car in the garage because sadly, in the two years I've owned it, I've averaged less than 5,000 miles/year and it just gets dusty sitting in the garage.

That said, it's a nice soft fabric with substantial thickness. The fit is great, pulling down snugly below the front and rear bumper and with pockets for the side mirrors. There's a clear plastic window in the rear which lines up with the rear license plate. It also has substantial plastic grommets on either side so that you can use the optional locking cable. It also comes with a storage bag which is secured to the back edge with straps (I cut these off so the bag can be stored in the trunk).

The only drawback is that it comes so far down over the tires that the tire dressing rubs off on the cover.

Yes to inside and heated.

I also plan on using it to keep the dust off of it when in season. Hopefully I won't get tired of putting on and off.

Do you need to remove the antenna in order to put the cover on?

Thank you again!

Yes, if your car has the original antenna. Many of us here have a stubby antenna installed and the car cover will go on without needing to remove the antenna. If you search the forum for stubby antenna, you should find the one folks here like.
