Installed Stromung exhaust and Stoptechs yesterday.

Hi everyone, my car took another big step to being where I want it to be yesterday. I installed a Stromung exhaust after sanding it down and giving it four coats of high temp paint. The sound on this exhaust is PERFECT!! Coming from my old Z4M with the Diablos which I absolutely hated, the Stromung is the perfect balance between sound and not being annoying. You can definitely feel the sound in the car, there's no drone, and it even burbles and pops under deceleration. Absolutely PERFECT, I couldn't be happier.

I was also able to pick up a couple used used 355mm St-40 kits from a really nice guy in Canada. I removed the white Stoptech logos and placed some high temp black Stoptech stickers on the calipers. I think it came out great, and matches my car much, much better.

I still think my car rides a *bit* too high on the H&R coilovers, but my tech was adamant I didn't want to lower the car any further. I still think there's a good half inch or so of safe lowering, but I guess I'll just follow the advice of everyone who has seen the car and keep it at the height it's at now.

Next up, factory style spoiler painted red with a matte black lip, and the nice diffusor you see on Ebay. Maybe after that a 1M bumper, but I don't know. My front bumper is pretty chipped up, so it might a good investment anyway.
I LOVE MY CAR!!!

That would be my guess! I should have taken some more pics of the cars sitting around in the shop, lots of neat stuff. They just finished a Camaro with a built up 427 and a Procharger. They figured it would dyno between 1200-1400hp! Fired it up while I was there and all I could hear was blower whine. ;D

Looking good, Nicky. Glad to hear your opinion on the exhaust. I have one sitting in my garage that I simply haven't gotten around to mounting yet. I was also considering the RE Diablo so glad to hear your feedback.

Also interested in the diffusor, are you talking about the one listed by S4Play?

Yes sir, that's the one! I had the AC Schnitzer diffusor on my last Z4M, but don't feel like paying the near $2k again. I bought the S4Play one as it's cheap and I like the subtle effect. I'll post pics again once the spoiler and diffusor are all installed.

Sweet, got my S4Play diffusor in the mail today and install took about 10 minutes. I really like it! Gives the car a nice subtle look in the back without breaking the bank, total win in my book. Here are some semi night shots of the car I took this evening. I have the LED license plate lights and 6k HID bulbs so the colors look a bit different. I LOVE this car, I had to literally force myself to drive back home. ;D

Spoiler will arrive Wednesday, which I'll sent to be painted Imola red with a matte black lip on it. My car is inching ever close to my vision!

Damn those brakes are a nice piece of kit, AND they came out of Canada too, if you don't mind me asking did they come from a fellow zpost-er ?

Thanks! They came with some kind of trick Pagid pads which the seller told me were like $600+. I've never had a street car brake like this, it's incredible. You touch the brakes and the nose dives, incredible braking performance!

They weren't from a fellow zpost-er, but from an E46 M3 owner. The M3/Z4M use the exact same brake setups except for the rear brake lines, as the lines on our cars are longer. No problem at all, I just called Zeckhausen and spoke with David Zeckhausen himself and he set me up with the proper rear brake lines. I would HIGHLY recommend going to him if you need any help, he was incredibly helpful and basically talked with me on the phone for 15 minutes to make sure everything was correct. Pretty top notch customer server for an inexpensive part! I'll definitely be going back to him if I need anything else in the future.

Anyway, the guy who sold me the kit couldn't have been nicer, and he was completely honest about everything. The kits arrived meticulously packed, and everything was in fantastic condition (the rotors didn't even have a lip!). I couldn't be happier.

looks good dude, I love my Stromung cans. they sound awesome when you give the car a bit of the business, but I think my fav is when you're just tooting around town and they give a nice aggressive burble. There's zero rice, all nice!

Everything looks nice, great work man! Only question: You live in Missouri? How do you daily drive that in the winter? I can understand driving an E86 in the winter, but do you let it snow on the soft top? For some reason I thought you were in CA.

Haha, I wish I lived in CA. ;D

Yes, it's my daily driver. Luckily we haven't had much snow in St. Louis these past few years, I think we only had a couple inches tops last year. I also work remotely from home, so if the roads are very bad, it doesn't impact me in the slightest. ;D

Thanks for your kind compliments about my car! I'm hopefully getting the spoiler installed in the next couple days and will be sure to post some pics then.

Thanks, and totally agree about the exhaust. It gives the car a great tone, and never screams "LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME IM A KID LOOK AT ME".

Nooo you don't wish you lived in CA. Cops hunt you down like Donald Trump does to Mexicans.

Nice car though
The color consistency is spot on. Oh god it's going to look so glorious once the spoiler gets installed!!!!

I think it'll look nice to paint/dip the rear center bar (above the diffuser) black so it flows with the diffuser. Excuse my shitty Photoshop skills but something like this:

Hey thank you for the time you took to make that, I think it looks fantastic! Honestly, I'll probably go ahead and use some more of the carbon wrap I have lying around. That section should be much easier to wrap than the front lip which was a massive PITA. You're right, I think it goes great with the diffuser and it should certainly match the matte black lip which will be on my spoiler. Bravo!

I'll certainly post some pics once it's all done, should be within a week or so, but hopefully by this weekend. Thanks again for taking the time to make that shop and your kind words.

Damn thats a good look. Did you lower your car at all or do the 19's just fill it out that well?

I did a group by for the stromung cans way back and love them. Driven with them on for 40k miles and still love em!
