The salesman predictably attempted to dismiss the Z4C describing it as "the old one". |

Had a chick at MFest yell out of the passenger window of (what I assume) her boyfriend's car that she loved my car as we were leaving the hotel. I think they were in an M6 too
My nephews call it a "hot wheels car" Thumbs up from a guy in a Gallardo Some old lady telling me how cute the car is, then proclaiming that I look way too young to be driving it saying I look like a child (I'm 24, not THAT young) WAY too many people saying "I couldn't own something like that, its too rich for my blood" Which kinda makes me mad. Shouldn't people WANT to have a nice car? I dont like people who aim for the middle. Heard about some kid flipping out over my car because he didn't know they made an M model. My 3000gt still turns a lot of heads too, and its a 95! Would think people have seen them by now. |

I have had a combo of most of the above...
1. BMW service manager letting me know my car was coming around after going to pick it up for service, "sir, youre M3 is ready, its coming around now." Likely an easy slip, hopefully he really knew what it was. Let him slide. 2. High school kid in a prius on the highway, trying to catch up to me after I blew by earlier, just to pull up next to me and give me a thumbs up. The irony of a speeding/aggressively driving prius 3. Personal fav, guy I know owns a Ferrari California. When I parked next to him at a friends gathering, lots of attention was on the m coupe more than his flashy red - i am compensating Ferrari (although it is a sweet ride). After a few minutes, he comes over, and says, "that is a really nice car, you just got it right? My business partner had the same one. He had so many problems with it." When in fact his business partner had a porsche boxster s, which he sold to my buddy (and runs great. Hater. |

I love driving in the Hamptons in the summer, Ferraris, 911's, Jags, Mercs, Bentleys, Aston Martins and RRs are everywhere so driving my Z4 I feel like I'm the one with the exotic car, I can go an entire day and maybe I'll see one or two or none at all. There is nothing like having a guy in a Lambo checking out your car.

A guy followed me to the empty upper level of the parking garage in his SUV, I felt a little anxious, but he only wanted to ask me what kind of car it was.

Guy at a car wash with a m6 asks what year and how much I paid. When I told him he was on disbelief that it was so cheap relative to his coupe.
And a lot of people pull up at a light, give some variation of a nod, thumbs up or say straight out "that is a f'ng hot car" |

I had two in the last week, it seems to never stop. The first was a girl carrying some packages out to the car, as we got closer I hit the door looks and the blurted out "ooh wow this car is so bad ass" she quickly apologized for it and just said thank you....then yesterday driving down the interstate a girl in a convertible Mercedes pass me then slow down, then go beside me, beep the horn wave a thumbs up, mouth "awesome".. again a thank you and a wave. The car is like a ROCKSTAR!

Since having it in Germany, I've gotten all the new craning necks. Being here with a Bimmer I thought I'd just blend in but people actually know (most anyway) it's an M and I've had quite a few conversations with random people about it. I love how many people think it's new.

When I first got mine, all my colleagues were cracking the "you get paid too much" jokes. Most couldn't believe it's not brand new and didn't cost $75K.
Driving in downtown Vancouver with the wife, roof down, had a guy run from across the street, in front of traffic, stops in front of me then does this two thumbs up thing while squatting down and grinning, he then moved to the side of the car and applauded as I drove away before going back across the street.

I had postd this story once because I thought it was pretty wild:
Guy in a 3 series is behind me on freeway. Follows me off exit, through neighborhood and stops outside my house when I pull in. I get out and give him the "hi.?.?" Turns out he has seen my car at work, knows I just bought it (in-transit sticker) and wants me to have his contact info so that he has "dibs" if/when I ever decide to sell it. He saw me leaving work and followed me 14 miles to my house. kinda crazy. Guy at a gas station, was fascinated with car - told me how great it looked and as he is getting back in his hyundai to drive away, he says. "Wow, I guess I have a new goal." pretty sweet. |

Yeah, being E-5 in the military having an M Coupe, I get this almost on a daily basis. "How the hell do you afford that?!" "How much did you have to put down?!" "How much..." "How much..." 2 years of saving for a new ride, driving an 85 ranger, and 2 deployments help. lol
