I'd be down for another meet as well before the weather turns bad.
However i have to wait till I get my car back from the body shop.

He was fine, just a scrape on his arm but didn't want to do anything about the incident, didn't want to give me his name or any other information so I had to call the Police and they did a report, he was given a ticket and was 100% at fault and i had no fault, but now it's up to me to fix the damage on the car whether i wanna go through insurance or not.
He managed to scratch my bumper, put a fist size dent on my fender, break one of my headlight tabs and put another tiny ding on my hood.

I took the bumper and headlight off on Sunday to see how bad the damage was, I managed to glue the headlight tab back on and the ding on the hood should be easy to pull out. So all I have to worry about now is the fender + hood damage.

Hey man, you need to think twice about reporting this to your insurance company. I hit a cyclist about 6 years ago (entirely NOT my fault and I was NOT charged), who crossed an intersection blindly, against a light. He was 14 years old and sustained only minor injuries (thank god for both of us, as I thought he was going to be dead....he hit the windsheild, which spider-webbed immediatly, so I couldn't see what happened to him after that). Since the kid was a minor and did not have car insurance, the insurance company treated my collision as an at-fault collision EVEN THOUGH I WAS ABSOLVED OF ANY WRONG-DOING BY THE POLICE. I was pissed and even after esclating the case and speaking with my broker, the ins company and a couple of their adjusters, I was left hung out to dry, as they stuck to their "this is just the way the system works" rhetoric. Thankfully I had "accident forgiveness" as part of my policy, which means my rates didn't increase, however I lost the ability to shop my insurance business for a better price for six years, since I technically had an at-fault claim on my insurance record.

My advice is to talk to your broker and see if they can provide some guidance for you, before taking it to the insurance company.

Thanks for the advice. That was exactly what I was worried about when going through insurance. I am pretty set on paying for it out of pocket, but I am still waiting to get a quote on the bumper & fender work. I hope I won't be shocked.

I say take it to Luxury auto body.

Rich does great work and does not cheap out on the clear and base paint.
Esp his clear, he uses very hard clear so it is very chip resistant.

I can refer you to him to get some discount if you want.

the bumper wont be bad. i would recommend blending the paint where the damage was, and just re-clearing the whole bumper. small chance of getting the color off. the fender looks like it can be pulled and doesnt have paint damage...

shouldnt be more than 500

FYI, i got a quote this week from Tip Top Collision in Toronto regarding painting my M's bumper. Its last owner didn't care about rock chips. I've been quoted $750 for repainting the bumper. Not sure if this is fair or not because I have not shopped around. Regardless, this may give you a good baseline. Hope it helps.

Thanks for all the advice guys, it's much appreciated. The M is in the shop now and I'm gonna try and pull the fender dent out without repaint and respray the entire front bumper, which gives me a chance to spray over the reflectors as well. I should see it back late this week or early on next week.

Now on to the topic of this thread.
Another Z meet this year ? When and where ?

I can't plan anything right now; juggling too many things.
If you guys decide something, I'll try to make it.

Np, glad you joined the forum.
Did that last service solve the 1-2 grind ? If it did I might have to opt for it myself.

I've been babying it since I got it back. Hopefully it's still breaking in because I can fee the syncro engaging when shifting into 3rd but I'll give it a proper test in another couple weeks after I put some more KMs on it and let you know

The new passenger side engine mount bolts made a massive difference for cabin vibration... Apparently all 4 had broken clean off

It'll go back in for service this week for some paint repair and TPMS errors (hopefully a new cup holder too!)

You guys want to meet up Saturday afternoon (1pm)?

There is a fairly nice place by the water at the end of Hurontario street and east a little bit called "Mississauga, Ontario (Lakefront Promenade Park)". There is a big parking lot there at the end (closest to the water). I've been there once or twice in the past. Usually empty parking lot and by the water.

It's a suggestion ... what do you guys think?
