Mounting the Mstache

Of those that drilled, how did you determine where to drill?

Pull bumper off the car and set it on the the Mstache or put the Mstache in place with tape and guess?

Thanks in Advance

Placed it up to bumper and had it rest on wooden blocks and did the best i could to estimate where to drill. Make the hole a little bigger, more like a slot to help with aligning it. Dont make it wider than the bolt washer though. Then double sided tap the bottomand done.

I've started the next batch. Please let me know if you're interested in purchasing one so you can reserve a spot.

Thanks

Got mine installed yesterday ! Really compliments the look, but for the life of me , i can't understand how some folks with low cars can use this. My car is OEM height and the lip is pretty low. Will add some pics tonight

Hi Steve,

I'm in Canada, how much ALL IN (shipped) will it be to get in on this?

You're still selling for $120 correct?

Thanks!

Hi Steve,

How thick is the Mstach under the fangs? I am just trying to get a guess for how much clearance space it takes.

You mentioned earlier in the thread there may be a Mstache 2 that would be a different design in the future - would that be thinner top to bottom or thicker?

Ok, finally got around to taking some pics, not the best as they are from a phone, but the day was clear... Love the look

Like I said, I love the look, but I do have to be a little more careful now that I was before. It looks like It should've from the BMW factory

Great doing business with you Steve!

It's approximately 5/8" thick under the fangs.

Mstache 2 will have the same thickness but will extend less further out and the middle portion between the fangs will be raised upwards.

Thanks for asking.

Well, the unthinkable happened. I guess when I used the 3m tape, it was too cold and did not set. because of this middle portion on mine kinda drooped and got serious road rash.

I think it is salvageable and that by using some sand paper I should be able to get it smooth again and then spray paint it. This time I will be a little more careful in the installation.

Sad day this Sunday

Here are the pics, please don't try this at home kids. Sorry for the shitty picture quality

Actually there are four holes that can be drilled to bolt on to pre existing holes on M bumpers. Where I messed up, was that it stated clearly on the 3M automotive tape that it should be done in temperatures of 65 or over and it definitely was not 65. So I don't attribute this to anything other than my stupidity.

the lip makes the car look sick! and I will try to fix and install again. if I can't i will order a new one. I like it that much. My only advice is don't do the half asses job I did.

Man I am sorry to hear of the mishap. I still have mine sitting in the hall way of my office. Bruce went out of town on assignment so it will be either next weekend or the weekend after when he comes down when we put ours on. I will take plenty of pic's of the install and finished product.

Regards

PS: The pictures look good even if from a phone.

I've had mine installed for a while now. Love the look. Used the MARSON RIBBED RIVET-NUT KIT to attach it to the car. Unfortunately, the idiot behind the wheel has hit not one but two curbs now! I repaired it the first time now I'm debating whether I should repair it again or just bite the bullet and buy a new one. Hopefully I have finally incorporated the extra inch into my driving envelope by now.

^ - I know what you mean, that's the reason I put on the RPI skid plates after I got me a bumper stop. Darn thing just moved at me, there was nothing I could do!
