So I guess you'll be transporting your car around on a flatbed now?
Let's us know how much more jarring they are over the V3s. I had V3s on my last car...

Yeah, The V3's are so smooth, I may be in for a rude awakening. I will be shure to post a suspension thread once I have put a few miles on the club sports.

With the track school kit you can keep the car at stock height if you prefer. GC offers a standard strut and a shortened strut depending on your needs. They will build the kit custom to suit your needs. It's actually a very fun process.

KW V3's go for about $2,000 new. I find that **********s.com has the best pricing. Even when they have a price set on the web, you can usually bargain down from there.

Based on the site I thought that price was for the roadster version? I guess those can be used on the Coupe as well... In any case, I just went with the Dinan springs for now, I'm on the fence on whether or not I should invest more in suspension or power.

If you don't mind me asking why did you switch from th GC to KW? I am actually just about to order a set. I was going to get the KW CS but I didn't like how they use progressive springs in the rear and only 400lbs springs in the front

I was in the same boat as you are. I decided to upgrade the suspension first because the car has ample power for my driving a ability. I do plan to bump the power up after I finish the suspension, upgrade the brake system and have track time in this car under my belt. I had previously spent time on the track in my e46 M and I fount that the lap time advantage went to the cars with the best handling capabilities on the technical tracks. Quote:
I have to give kudos to Jay and Frankie who helped me build by kit. The best part about GC is that they will customize the kit to your needs. If you have been working with them you have probably experienced this already. For those that have not, You get to pick between stander strut length and short struts. You choose what ever front and rear spring rates you want ( and if you are not happy they will switch them out for the price of shipping). You also get to choose what style camber plates you want, hybrid or race. So why did I switch to KW? With the GC kit using the recomended rear springs, I was only able to lower the rear end a little less than half inch. From the factory our cars are sit lower in the rear to keep balanced weight over the tires. My goal was to maintaing the front to rear ratio, so this would mean I could only lower the front end a half inch. I had previousl been running the H&R Springs, so it actually looked like I had lifted my car. The H&R springs, as you know, are 1" all the way around, so had basically lifted my car a half inch. I got together with GC and they sent me shorter rear springs, but warned that there could be "coil chatter" When I used the shorter rear springs, I was then able to lower my car the desired 1" all the way around. This was great, and the suspension performance actully exceeded my expections. Unfortunatley, while driving I would have a nasty noise behind me "coil chatter" This would happen anytime there was an elevation change in the road that would stretch the suspension out and then quickly compress it again. I talked with guys at ground control and the issue is that the distance between the control arm and the body of the car is so short that to acomplish the lower ride height and no chatter you have to go with a progressive spring. Can't use an assistor spring because othe the chance that it would pop out when the suspension is stretched. Based on performance alone the GC's were a great value. I was just not willing to deal with the noise. From there I ran V3's: No more chatter They are rediculously smooth and greatly improve performance from stock. The ride comfort exceeds that of the GC kit, But The GC performance was marginally better than the KW kit. From ther I picked up Clubsoprts: I plan to start tracking this car soon and I missed having camber plates. Clubsports seem to best suit my needs, and **********s ran an insane deal on them during their "twelve days of Christmas sale" My hopes are to get the some of the performance back without the chatter. good luck, Chris F.
