Yup, I remember weighing in @ 3360-3380 when the car was completely stock, with a full tank of gas.
Plus driver, it's still quite a hefty car. But at least it's got potent power hahah

You would have to make sure you charge the battery when you're not driving it for a week or two. Some people have had a small battery put in with no problems, while others have had some problems. If you're daily driving yours, and you need it to be very reliable, you might reconsider swapping out to a lighter battery. If it's a weekend driver or a track star, I say go for it.

Yeah it depends on your locale too. Warmer places typically don't have as much of an issue. It all comes down to cold cranking amps whether or not you can start your car after sitting idle for a week or so at a time.

lolol nonono. The scale was back and forth between 3220 and 3240, which is why I said "3220-3240 with + 20 lbs." haha

My hunch is that it falls somewhere like 3230 right in between

This weekend I removed the rear retractable cover mechanism. I've been wanting to do this for a while. It weighs 7.5 lbs.
I will get the car on a scale again this week.

Is it easy to remove? I never use the cover.

aren't there a few (cheaper) alternatives to the batteries mentioned above? like odyssey and the other super-light ones

I'm using an odyssey for the past 2 yrs. It doesn't hold a charge after 2 weeks so it sits on a trickle charger but there are no issues beyond that. I forgot the model number but here's a pic

It unbolts easily but... it's a real pain to remove all the plastic trim in order to get to the bolts that hold it in place. I imagine it will be even more of a pain to put it all back again but I haven't done that yet.
