it is a bit under the normal here. We got some hail and some hard rain starting about 2:30 or so this morning. Currently, it is 24 degrees right outside my back door. So, it's chilly! My car is safely tucked away in the garage. Won't be venturing out in it till about 0500 tomorrow.

Your CRAZY!

Actually, I have been known to do the same thing. Wife just shakes her head when that happens. I have been know to wash my car at 0300 in the morning in the summer months too. Just crank up all of the lights in the garage, driveway and have a go at it. It's nice to be able to take your time trying to dry it and not sweat so much when washing/waxing day happens! By 0800 car is washed/waxed and ready for the days activities.

there must be something therapeutic about taking the time to keep our cars clean. i was back on base using the california duster and quik detailer after my spirited drive north past lake amistad. ended up fussing over the details until it was dark! did not get any hail here but car was under shelter regardless. rained very heavily though.

Major ice storm here in North Texas. My Z is still in the shop so I'm not sweating over it.

Driving in to work this morning - the temp gauge had 14 on it at one point. Well, I "thought" I was in Texas!

so, anyone on their week off work and finding they're spending an inordinate amount of time on beautifying their cars? i just spent the afternoon washing, claying and applying klasse aio on the entire car.

did i mention how amazingly easy it is to use klasse aio? simply rub on and wipe off with a dry cloth immediately. results are absolutely amazing! the fine swirls have been glossed over and the finish feels teflon-smooth to the touch. i gave up with the klasse sealant glaze after applying tt over the entire front bumper. it takes a great deal of elbow grease to buff it all out, albeit am happy my front bumper's well protected again. also went over my entire interior with leather conditioner and interior dressing, really brings out the life in the carbon leather finish and gives everything a nice, understated sheen.

going to clean the wheels and grilles tmr with more superb klasse aio and some sealant glaze over the former. brake dust has been substantially reduced with my axxis deluxe advanced ceramics, but i'm incredibly picky like that.

So, what is this week off work thing you speak of?

klasse aio sounds good. Where do you get this?

bill, i bought the klasse aio and sealant glaze as a package from autogeek.net, but u can purchase them individually from amazon, or apparently, from any high-end automotive dealerships. this is truly the stuff of the future being so incredibly versatile (i use it on my windshield and windows, rims and exhaust tips) yet what really crowns it is the ease-of-use. it is literally rub on, wipe off, instantly. plus u really only need a thin application of it to go a long, long way.

week off work cos i'm done with my second phase of flying training, last phase to go starting next monday! hence my status change right below my alias as well.

Have I mentioned lately how much I HATE Texas weather? Woke up this morning, went for a run BEAUTIFUL day. Decide when I get home I"m going to wash, polish, and wax my car.

No shit as soon as I'm done drying the car and start to polish...the wind picks up. Anyone in West Texas will know what I'm talking about. It's not the wind...the wind blows dust. I couldn't keep the car clean long enough to polish!!! I made do but spent so much time moving the dust, I didn't get to waxing. GRRR...tomorrow?

*off soap box*

How was everyone's weekend?

todd, two words - california duster! i've significantly reduced my wash intervals primarily because i'm trying to avoid touching my car's paint finish as much as possible, and the california duster i bought for $10 at walmart has been exceptional. u have to wrap it in paper for 48 hours to soak up the excess paraffin wax on the fibers, but after tt, it works amazing for the ultra annoying texas dust and helps keep my car looking pristine every single day. takes only minutes to dust off the entire car, and i can verify tt it's completely, 100%, swirl free.

met up with elliot this weekend at coffee and rides, and we had a go in each other's rides
