E85 Z4 2006 Convertible Top Issue

Hey all,

This weekend, my convertible top started acting up. The top goes up and down, but does not latch at the top, nor retract 100% when moved to the open position. The "down button" continues to flash when the top is down. When the top goes up, it moves all the way into position for the upper motor to latch, but it does not latch. I opened the access panel on the top motor and can see both of the drive cables turning when I push the "up" button.

I am guessing this is an issue with the primary Hydraulic convertible lift that is underneath the top?

Any thoughts, suggestions would be appreciated before I start the process of replacing/refurbishing the hydraulic motor?

Thanks Mark in AZ

Convertible Problems

Hopefully you were able to get this fixed. If you want a good DIY guide, Shipkiller posted a great one. You can search for the pdf online. The pictures for the one here don't seem to show on my browser.
