Chrome line seat belt guide retrofit for 06 and newer Z4's

hello some time back i retrofitted the Chrome line pakage onto my Z4.

in 06 BMW as part of a cost reducing excersize and seviceability issue changed the seat belt guide on the new face lifted Z4 as a result the chrome line pakage that came with a seat belt guide cover in a metalic finish was not able to work on the newer z4, it worked only with 02 to 05 cars.

so since this part of the Chrome line pakage does not work with our newer 06 and up seats, would anybody be interested in me making a DIY retrofit guide on how to make the chrome line pakage work with the 06 and newer Z4's?

if so i will make one up if people are interested.

How different are the non-sport seats from 2005 to 2006? Couldn't you find the part number for the old seat belt guide and maybe replace it?

Actually no, they are completely different, you literally have to disassemble the seat back and take the leather and foam off to make it work. hence the serviceability change for the older cars. it’s not just a bolt on sort of thing....well it is but not a do it over lunch sort of thing.

the inner seat belt guide retainer backing is completely different

Yea it's pretty involved and you have to remove the leather seat backing to replace the part under the leather, not only do you need to replace the outer pieces you need a new mount that mounts under the leather.

You need to disassemble the leather cover install the new parts and reapply the leather seat cover, it's been so long I don't remember step by step anymore.

I also just realized this was asked long time ago and my BMW app juts alarmed me about it lol jeez better off late then never I guess.
