Recs for super white halos for '07 Z4MR?
I got the DRL's switched on today - I need to replace these with some super white lights - I tried searching to no avail - any recs?
I was thinking of going the LED route with a full headlight replacement, but I searched and found numerous posts on water seeping into the headlight housing etc., so the cheaper option is to go with a bulb replacement.

The stock bulbs are pretty dim. See post #19 in this thread for the brightest LED available to fit the sock BA9S socket. They will throw a bulb out error, but can be easily coded to ignore those bulbs.

Doesn't look like Tekarbon has the bulbs listed on their site anymore.

teckarbon have had way to much unhappy customers for you to risk their setup... and their service isn't much better imo talking from person experiencing trying to order their carbon mirrors.

Noooooo! I wanted Tekarbon lights :/ I love Ümnitza's lighting but I really don't like the housing aftermarket look. I BELIEVE I read somewhere that Ümnitza would actually accept our headlights if you ship out to them, they'll do their magic and return them to you for a much lower price (compared to the $800 if you get the top of the line deal)

A lot of people have horrid stories about them. I'm possibly the only one that hasn't had any problems with them (cross my fingers!)

Umnitza, Tekarbon, Depo (please!) - all garbage. I've yet to see an aftermarket lighting setup for any German car that isn't pure crap. OEM costs dearly, but you get what you pay for. Just like you get what you pay for with the Ebay stuff.

I put these in, and I'm pretty happy. Whiter than stock, but not much brighter.
I have the same in a BAY9s in my panic brake lights, which light together with my normal brake lights all the time now. They could be brighter than they are, but the lower set of chips, which are about the only ones that do anything, go past the "sweet spot" in the halo ring by about 0.20". I have a spare set of holders and one of these days I hope to Dremel the snot out of them and back the whole center section out a bit, so that the lower chips are in the sweet spot.

Nope. Just cuttin' n' splicin'.
I cut the wires for the panic lights and jumpered them to the regulars. Then I terminated the open wires from the module with 20Ω 25W resistors to clear the error. Don't try it with incandescents. It'll overload the driver. I have a thread in here somewhere on what to do (and not to do) with the stock bulbs. Requires making a little circuit board with a transistor driving a relay.
