Looking for a pair of the covers for the side gaps when the top is down on a roady.

i think it's a case of take number and get in line with these. since they're discontinued, they're becoming rarer and rarer, esp in black

You sure they are discontinued? I've seen them on a few sites.

I'm lucky I guess. I bought a repo'd Z4 and in the trunk I found a black set with storage bag, a BMW windblocker, a BMW carpeted trunk mat, and a BMW multi- compartment bag that mounts to the trunk lid.

Lol. I haven't used them but I think I'll hang on to them! They look good, but I'm afraid someone will steal them if I leave the car unattended.

I'm in Cleveland, Oh...I park in a garage at night at my apartment, so that's not what I'm worried about. On nice days when I have the top down I usually just leave the top down, put up the windows and lock the car if I run into the store. I'm not worried about someone stealing the car, but something like those winglets would probably be gone in two seconds.

I guess I'm just paranoid.

They're not that great, really. Thought they'd cut down some noise, but it turns out its just the seatbelt guide that makes noise. They look great, but don't have any real other purpose. And they have to come out when the top goes up, which gets old.

So you determined the wind noise was from the seat belt guide? That's what is bugging me.

Mine started to get annoying after a while because I would forget to take them out before hitting the top-up button. Then they would pop out and I would have to get out and go pick them up. Damn my memory. Sometimer's is a bitch!

I've seen them on a bunch of sites too, each one I try comes back with sorry ... discontinued in all three colours. Even roadster solutions in the link above says:"SORRY, THIS ITEM IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE"

That's all fine and good but I don't have the original CAD file of the part from BMW to print from nor an actual part that I can have scanned. Even if I did, I'm pretty sure the cost would put it out of my league, my guess would be in the multiple hundreds of dollars per set. Quality production parts from 3D printers are few and far between and hideously expensive for now.
