FS: Diff Fluid w/friction modifier

Hi gang,

I was at Paragon Competition in Vaughn today and bought some Motul Hypo Synt LS 75W-140 diff fluid today...the stuff with the friction modifier. It was designed for BMW specifically as indicated in their literature and on the label.

I had to buy 5L even though a change only requires 1.5L as it was the smallest size they had. That said, it was WAY cheaper than what BMW sells it for. So, I am willing to part with 1.5L if someone wants to buy some off of me for a change. Price is $50 for the 1.5L. The cheapest place to get the OEM stuff from that I have found, and was going to buy from myself, is Tischers in the US and they sell the OEM for $45 per half litre!

Anyway, I am in Waterloo so if anyone in southern Ont wants to bring an empty bottle by, I will part with 1.5L. I am willing to find some bottles and ship to you if you want but shipping cost is on you.

Nice find
1st I've heard of this Mike.
.... I guess the obvious question is how do we know if it's the same?

Mine has recently been done , so I'm good for now.

I'm taking the guy's word for it but first off, he knew a hell of a lot about fluids and did claim that they have regularly brought in barrels of it for a couple of the dealers and BMW specialists. He is also a BMW guy himself (M3). I also did some research when I got home and did find that it is indeed recommended for BMW LS diffs...

http://motul.speclube.com/wp-content...re_2008_en.pdf ... 2nd last page

In the end, I am taking his word for it but the literature from Motul seems to indicate the same and Joe was definately not throwing me a sales pitch. As a salesman myself, I am always on guard!

Hey Mike ... I think I will take 1.5L. Let me know when you plan on doing this, maybe I can sneak in there with you

I think that Turner quotes this stuff as a replacement in their guide under 30,000mile maintenance.

Hey Mirko,

I'm going to get at it in the next couple of weekends but you can swing by whenever you like to pick it up. Just let me know what works for you. I am home Wed-Fri evening and likely working on the car Sat this week.

Cheers
