Sad day for ShakyDog

Lucy and I lost new Black Betty yesterday,

The X3 will be missed and replaced. Have not had her long enough to even make a payment. I am hoping they total her as I am not sure I want to keep an air bag deployed BMW as the value goes in the tolet.

Line of cars in left lane, someone leaves a hole, someone turns left without being able to see if I am there. 40 MPH to 0 in 2'. BMW turns self off, turns on hazards, and then BMW Assist calls. Never had an accident of this magnatude before and it left me a bit shaken. I am just so very gald it was not my Z4. Not sure I could take that so close to the last disaster in my life.

I took pictures with my cell phone, but it just does not show very well, black car in bright sunlight.

I am good, thanks to Betty,

Steve

It sounds like you were not injured in the accident. Don't worry about the car, it can be replaced but people can't!!

Cheers!!!

Glad to hear you are safe! Don't worry about the X3. Ask around for the most expensive shop in town, just in case the insurance company doesn't total the car.

Wow, glad you are alright and not in the Z4 as well! I bet the SUV frame takes an impact like that a bit better.

Load the pics when you get a chance and keep us updated!

Wow, not even one payment yet.

On the other hand, as others have said, I'm glad you are okay. Sounds like Betty did her job and protected you though.

Glad you're alright and hopefully they'll total it. At least it wasn't the Z4.

Sorry to hear about the X3. At least you are ok. That is what really matters. As others have said, cars/trucks can be replaced. You cannot be replaced.

$12,000 in repairs. So as soon as she is done being repaired I will start looking for a new one. I really miss that car. Driving a rental Jeep of some sort, they were going to put me in the premium Dodge Durango? Really a Dodge? No I don't tink so...

I know the Jeep is also a Dodge, but it is less of a Dodge.

Same accident my GF had in my 83 rabbit gti I was prepping for GrassRoots Motorsports $2002 Challenge. Threw my over the $2002 limit because PA is a "shared fault" state! The insurance companies said because she hit the driver that shot out from behind an SUV that she could have stopped or avoided it. Said she was 40% at fault and they reduced their payout by 40%!
As you know all too well, avoiding that accident is near impossible, and in my GF's case, the 40' wall on her right made it impossible to avoid the moron who came out from the left.
I hope in your case, you don't have to share fault..

Good to hear you're ok and the car did what it was supposed to. Too bad it won't be totaled.

They just called and the Sunroof is all jacked up and will need complete replacement. I am thinking by the end of this they may have wished they totaled it. Wow is this Jeep uncomfortable and it almost did not start once today. Brand new and not working, sounds like a Dodge :-) Called today and asked if they will be getting something else.

It has to be better than the Sebring the dealership gave me when I was getting my car serviced.
