Here's a home made slave cylinder bleed tool => http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=414188
The BMW "special" tool that I saw my indy use looked similar, but easier to operate.
This. Full engagement is essential to avoid synchro wear. Great mod.

Slow CDV removal adopter, . Glad you like it though!

Jag Etype from the 60/70 has been a desired car of mine since the 80"s, probably could of paid a reasonable price for one back then. V12 !
Saw a pristine 60s E Type last Thursday. And it's my wife's favorite as well. She feel in love with one in England, and, it's what necessitated her Z4M purchase and ongoing desire for a well tended 240 which with rust/time is like trying to find a unicorn.

The E type was being driven by a well into retirement guy, and the dude was having a blast from the look on his face. Great driver too, he was driving in traffic and looking well ahead, avoiding idiots, lane weavers/full stop in traffic for no reason zombies, and flowing through these hazards slow with ease. Nice to see such a great example being enjoyed (and driven in a way to avoid idiots).

The Z4 is of course in the same tradition. It always puts a smile on my face as well!

Wow, that looks like a beauty!
This is the car that lit the automotive fire for me .
I had a friend who's dad owned the Datsun dealership in town back in the day....
We used to sit in them all the time, taking turns at the wheel.

I still remember one of the mechanics putting a 5c coin (had flat spots on the edges) on the engine and it balanced with engine running.

Tons of great memories of this car.

I would as well, but she'd have me packing my bags and out the door

Good call finally removing the CDV! One other thing that might help shifting smoothness is an ECU tune. I haven't done it myself, but I've had the chance to drive my friend's coupe before/after an ESS tune and there's a noticable difference. Much more linear throttle response and less lag/delay.
