Windshield Cowl refresh kit

Hi All,

Is there a preferred vendor/sponsor to purchase a cowl refresh kit from? mine has a few cracks in it. Looks like a easy enough project but any step by step instructions on this would be good as well. Thanks.

Richard.

Search for windshield weather-stripping.
That's what usually goes first, and some in those threads have done the cowl at the same time (I did).
As for a source, just shop around the usual suspects like getbmwparts and the bmwpartsstore.

I think I got mine from ECS Tuning.

I ordered the e46 version from them.

One piece of advice: the box it ships in is very large, so get a shipping quote from wherever you're thinking of ordering from. Then check your local BMW dealer. Their price for the part will be higher, but it might be cheaper than the online price + shipping. In my case, I also ordered brake pads + rotors (heavy) and shipping was like $65.

Great stores, but I always seem to search and find a smaller dealer on eBay with free shipping that always beats their prices. Returns and warranty on items may be a different story, however, but it's still OEM parts.

Yea, I've started double checking eBay and Amazon after being surprised that I can find stuff like OEM coils and O2 sensors at about 1/2 price.
