How much would you pay for these wheels/tires?
I'm looking to get wheels from a bimmerforum member. They're 18" VMR CSL's 18x8.5 non-staggered, +40 offset.
Brand new set of Goodyear Eagle GT tires 225/40R18 (99.9% tread left) on the front wheels and Fuzion ZR1 tires 235/40R18 (~70% tread left) on the rear wheels. Two wheels have quite a bit of curb rash. 1st and 2nd pic are closeups of the curb rash: It's local and he's quoting $725. How much would you pay? He lowered it to $550. 1. Unmatched set of front & rear tires
2. Fuzion tires look undersized on the rims which may mean that the rims are not 8.5" but instead probably wider (compare them with the Goodyears... wider tires on the same sized rim should make them look more oversized and not undersized). 3. Too much curb rash for show. Unless you're planning to use them as winter wheels, the blemishes detract from the overall. And the cost of refurbing... I'd rather get a new set. 4. This wheel looks like there's a crack in the bottom right corner. http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/h...L/P1000833.jpg In this case (IMHO) the tires are useless to the deal since I'd end up remounting brand-matched tires. I'd offer no more than $450 for the set and $300 for wheels only. And that's ONLY if none of the wheels are cracked/bent. AND come with centercaps. |

i wouldn't buy these at all. bfc has 1000 pages on wheels/tires and there are always deals to be found. i picked my oz's brand new for 900 shipped. i see another member selling mint condition ch's for 1200 or so. i know it's more than what this guy is asking but the relative discount is better than what you're getting (considering the condition).

not bad, but are you going to keep as is or recondition them? the cost of reconditioning is typically 125 per wheel. add that back, and u might've been able to get the same set in mint condition. so to me 550 is what the right price is, but not a great deal. i'd only do it if i needed a beater set of "nice" rims and had no plans of fixing them up.
btw, i'm just a bit biased. i dont mind paying up for things but i recognize the fact that it's a buyer's market so you should take advantage of it... Last edited by 3002 tii; 03-11-2010 at 01:54 PM.. |

With reconditioning costs you will be paying for a new set of wheels.
These have clearly been abused. I would not really count any value for the tires. In my opinion you should pass on this set. To put things into perspective; when I sold my mint condtion 19" CSL reps with tires that had only 1000 miles on them, I let them go for $750.00 Good Luck
