I think I'll order the Skene one and call it good.
Of course, they could just ignore that silly law, but I know the cops here love to use the front license plate for their laser targets. Sigh...
Rick Hunter, a local Seattle IR Z4MC driver, has the Skene Design bracket:

I too like the center mounting position but don't care for the exposed brackets.
I went with the Gominigo off-center tow hook bracket which is easily removed and replaced with the towing eye for track use.

Here is a Canadian alternative to the Gominigo: http://www.rhoplate.com/

Anyone know if it's illegal to shape your license plate. Ideally, if I could bend the top and bottom, only exposing the characters, it could be less of an eyesore....
Oh, btw, I got a ticket for this today...while speeding...in a construction zone...on July 4th weekend...drunk. Ok, I wasn't drunk and there were just barrels, no people so don't freak out. just trying to be funny.

I won't install a front plate. I consider the tickets I might get, the cost of doing buisness.

How come your exhaust is illegal, but revving up a Harley to deafen everybody around is perfectly ok?

Well that probably isn't legal either. It's all about being caught I suppose. How many Corvettes do you know of that have been pulled over for no front plate?

I think you guys are getting off relatively easily in WA for not having the front plate. At least you get the fix-it option. I moved back to Vancouver, B.C. a few months ago, and kept getting pulled over left and right for no-front-plate. The first 3 times (and that's 3 times in 3 months), my car still had WA plates so they weren't able to do anything about it since it was out of their jurisdiction. Then I got my BC plates and got pulled over again. $128 and NO fix-it option. It's $128 a pop every time they catch it. Decided it wasn't worth it and bought the RHO bracket and put the front plate on. When I was living in Bellevue, I never got pulled over for NFP - not a single time.

Didn't care for the RHO bracket much at first, but I've tried a few mounting positions and think I've finally found one that looks best on the car. I do need to re-tighten one mounting bolt once every 2~3 weeks or so though.

Having lived in Vancouver, you become used to it. As Shuksan said... just consider it the cost of ownership. I always run tint and no front place and budget $500/yr towards this type of thing.
The cops in Van are notorious for tint and no-front-plate violations. The ticket is always given, but they usually don't make you report that it's been put back on. Things become a double-whammy pain in the a$$ when you have to show the work done at a Police Station.

Now that I'm in Seattle with WA plates, the cops leave me alone when I'm back in Van too.

Yup and in California its the same thing. If you show proof of correction it must be thrown out. You dont even have to go to court. When I was in my teens I had like 5 tickets for no front plate and it was dirt cheap to put it on and have the Marshal sign it off. Cost about $40 each time. Got 5 tickets over 5 years. No biggy in reality. Tint was the same thing. Actually cheaper.

Its just an easy income for the city/state, regardless if its written down somewhere stating you must have 2 plates on (law).

You supposedly can get an endorsment from the State Patrol. But you need to apply for it and there is a list of the cars that are approved. It's hard to get. Wankers....
