I'm having fun. The grin per buck factor is very high with this particular mod. Had to put my foot down pulling out into traffic on a main road in front of what looked like a modded Evo9 (carbon fiber hood etc). I expected the guy driving the Evo to respond but he wouldn't come anywhere near me and was actually hanging back for the next few sets of traffic lights haha! The car now sounds as good as it looks. When I get a moment I'll try and take some vids.

Hey Beedub. I did at least post one pic on page 6 of this thread. I'll do my best to take some HD video this evening. Between work and a two year old at home I just don't have the free time I used to (or the hair!).

When the exhaust was first installed I thought the same. However now after 60 miles or so the exhaust seems to have quieted down somewhat. Either that or I've gone deaf!!

Here is link to a vid as promised. Does anyone know how to create a better link? I was on my own so not going to win an oscar. I think the rasp that many people comment on is mainly coming from the stock intake rather than the exhaust as the car seems more raspy approaching the camera than when pulling away. Sound recording still doesn't really do the exhaust justice however as it has a nice bassy sound at lower rpm in person.

Another vid from inside the car with the window open.

The exhaust note is money when held at 4500rpm... almost exotic sounding. I love this thing! If it quiets down a touch, it will be absolutely perfect.

Actually after driving mine for quite sometime (mine is a daily driver) the exhaust note became deeper and more refined...

Glad you like the vid. I'll be in the Kent area if you want to met up for a pint. There are some better pics of my wheels in the wheel tech section under Volk RE30s if you're interested. Exhaust if definantly quieter and smoother sounding now than when first installed. However, I'd still keep the revs down a bit around the UK cops if I were you!

Here's what I wrote in another thread the other day:

"I had my RPI exhaust installed by a local shop (actually a ferrari dealership) because I too was worried about my own mechanical skills and the car being looked after properly. However having seen how easy an install it is, I would now do it myself without a second thought. There are just 4 bolts to tighten when installing each side.

The shop had not actually aligned the height of the exhaust tip on the drivers side quite right (was ~5 mm too low) and told me that it was a problem with the exhaust hangars. So I sent an email to Eloy at RPI about what I thought was a problem with how the drivers side ehaust had been made. Turns out that the flange on the front end of the exhaust (where it connects to the stock mid section) has a domed shape that allows adjustment of the exhaust tip height. So I put the car up on a couple of ramps last night and sure enough it was easy to loosen the two connecting bolts and get the exhaust tips heights just right. Excellent design and great technical support from RPI. I can tell you you're going to really like your new exhaust."

We take these exhausts on and off, on and off, then on and off, then on and off again more than the techs at BMW or elsewhere when we are designing it. Sometimes, you'll get the "its how its made" comment but we really do our best to ensure a correct fit. Im glad the adjustment was easy

So, if I go to UK, will both of you buy me a beer?
