Ha! I immediately recognized the background; the car was shot at Old Westbury Gardens, NY (tons of my own pics).

There's another Z4 in town that has 3,300 miles on it going for about $30k, IIRC.

I guess I am the only one that is surprised to see a modified example sell at such a strong price? Is it an indication of where the market is moving?

That was NOT a strong price. Given its solid maintenance history, it would have gone for about the same amount if bone stock. Seller would have been MUCH better off parting it out, getting back to as close to stock as possible, making some decent money off the parts, then selling the car for around the same price.

I view it this way too; however, I typically see clean modified cars sell for less than a stock example because of the mods. I honestly thought this would have pulled a max of $29k due to not being an all original car - glad that I was wrong.

The buyer definitely made a killing, because the mods are all pretty great, even though they don't add much value. And the car has clearly been maintained and treated VERY well. Helluva buy. Seller lost his ass.

How are the seats would be my main concern

The only common use of those bare carbon shells I've seen was in the mile/half mile GTR and Huracan drag cars.

Any plans to track the car?
