Potential MZ4C Buyer
I have been looking for an MZ4 Coupe to replace the wife's 335i. I think these cars represent an excellent buying opportunity and I like the unique attributes as well as performance. i currently have an E92 M3 in the garage but have also owned an E46 so I know the engine well. As real owners out there, what do you think I should realistically be willing to pay for an 07 or later example in good condition with 25k miles or less? Thanks guys! Also any input or things I should look for that might be potential problems or issues the car has.

As far as potential problems/issues, the only things I can think of are loose bolts on the rear swaybar and broken engine mount bolts, both of which should have been taken care of by the dealer.

I'm in the same boat. We bought a Z4M to replace my wife's Ford Escape (wow, what a change) and I have an E92 M3. My wife totally loves the Z4Mc; she's like a total car nut now: specs, DIYs, mods, driving classes, autocross, hanging out with car people and my car friends, you name it. Which is all really cool, since we now have another shared hobby and interest. The problem is that I love that darn car just as much as she does and my love the M3 has really just kind of gone. Sure, it's more comfortable, more practical, faster, and in some ways more capable. It's a "better" car. But it's just not as much fun. Whenever I can I borrow the wife's Z4Mc. (Which is okay at the moment since she's out of town and since I "paid" for the privilege by putting new Dunlop Star Specs on it and dialing in some negative camber. ) But she's back middle of the week, and she's told me in no uncertain terms to find my own "fun car" leave her car alone. My fun car used to be the M3, but it's just not fun anymore. If your wife is an enthusiast you won't get to drive it much. If she's not an enthusiast, she will be in short order and you won't get to drive it much. Note: all of these events were predicted by members of this forum BTW. So, if there's an issue with the car it's that it has a dramatic effect on people. |

Another thing is the ride is a bit bumpy. But for most people it is not a problem. Just depends on the person. Also like I said in the PM, I've had my car for a week and I love it. I've already noticed people checking it out while driving through parking lots and shopping centers. Not sure how this would make you feel if the car is for your wife

As far as people checking out the car, I can confirm this. Happens to me when I drive it. And it happens to my wife all the time. She's run into all kinds of enthusiasts (Porsche, BMW, Ferrari, whatever) and ends up chatting with them about cars. But that's not an issue for me (and she's the chatty outgoing type anyway) so it's no big deal. But you're right, the car draws attention. Last edited by Finnegan; 04-11-2010 at 11:45 PM.. |

Finnegan, get off your ass already and toss your M3 for an MC.
Oh, and to stay on topic... $30-32k sounds reasonable. |

I might consider selling mine...2007 silver coupe with black nappa extended leather & premium package. Car has just over 4K adult driven miles, proper break in etc. Car is garage kept and is immaculate. CPO warranty through BMW is transferrable.

Finnegan... the Extended leather is a cool feature. It just means EVERYTHING is wrapped in leather. There is a picture intensive thread around here about it somewhere since it such a rare feature... I'll see if I can't look it up.

There is less wrapped in leather on the Coupe versus the Roadster, but extended leather still a desirable option.

True since we don't have the roll bars and stuff but it means the arm rests, entire center console, dash and visors are leather wrapped where those things are not without the option just to name a few.

Thanks for the explanation of extended leather. I always wondered what it meant. All the cars I saw had it so I wasn't sure what was different. I love my interior tho and I have the extended leather.

thanks guys! I suspect that I will fall in love with it if we get one. I personally love the s-54 inline 6 and the look of this car is just too unique. I'm looking for one. If anyone knows of a seller of one of these beautiful cars please let me know. Thanks!
