FS: 2006 BMW M Coupe | One Owner | FL Car | KW V3 | 2 Sets of Wheels | MUST SEE

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
Up for sale is my (single owner) 2006 BMW M Coupe.

I ordered this car in early 2006 before it was officially announced and received it in June 2006. It has been a blast.

The M Coupe currently has 55,000 miles or so. I ordered this M Coupe with zero extra options - No Navigation (outdated and poorly designed) and No electric seats (very heavy).

MODIFICATIONS:
Three things have been improved upon this M Coupe:

1. KW Suspension V3:
The KW Suspension Variant 3 on the car features double adjustability (compression/rebound) & Inox construction. This suspension is a HUGE improvement from the original combining a close-to-stock ride and super-improved handling.

This kit retails for $2,899 from many sellers on eBay + installation.

2. Wheels & Tires (2 SETS):
I will include 2 Sets of Wheels & Tires (8 Wheels & Tires) with the M Coupe:

Street Set:
These Sumitomos are awesome and super-fresh with only 2K Miles on them. This is a great setup because wheels & tires can be rotated any way you like, extending tire life considerably.

I love the balanced handling of having the same (wide) wheel & tire setup on each corner.

Autocross Set:
Enkei NT03+M in 18x9.5 Front and 18x10.5 Rear. Front tires are 295/30/18 and Rears are 315/30/18 Hoosier A6

This set transforms the M Coupe into a handling MONSTER, and yes, they fit

The Hoosiers are kinda old and kinda worn. They are probably not competitive, but will serve as a great get-to-know-the-car set.

3. 5Zigen Exhaust:
I wanted to remove the heavy OE exhaust and replace it with something lighter. The weight difference is substantial, don’t recall the exact weight savings, but it was something along the 30 pounds range. It also improved the sound - better sounding than any other exhaust I’ve heard on S54 equipped M3s or M Coupes IMHO.

Oh, the car is also prewired for a Valentine 1. Bring your own V1 though, I am keeping mine

MAINTENANCE:
This car has had fresh fluids all of its life. Oil change intervals were anywhere between 3 an 5K miles. I Autocrossed (unfortunately no track) the car occasionally during the car’s early years. Haven’t autocrossed it in the past 2 years, just haven’t had the time.
BMW replaced the Steering wheel & shift knob right before the warranty expired. They look and feel brand new.

Front rotors and pads will need replacement soon (5K miles I estimate). Otherwise, it has new tires, new battery (a month old), new belts (1K ago), new oil etc.

Car has always been garaged and detailed regularly. It looks great.

BLEMISHES:
The rubber moldings around the windshield look weathered. Poor quality from BMW in my opinion. This is 100% cosmetic, there is no leaking at all.

Also, the inner fender linings are not in good shape thanks to the wheel & tire track setup and also a short offroad excursion I had with the car at an autocross event early in the car’s life (car was 4 months old at the time). Some owners remove these linings completely (especially if the car is never driven in snow).

That same excursion had me replace the front fender with a brand new one, I preferred having it 100% replaced than fixed - it was fixable though - nothing major.

WHY SELL?
I planned on keeping this car forever. It has everything I wanted; plenty of power (330HP), superb handling on a great looking and lightweight platform.

My family is growing (another kid on the way!) and we need a larger vehicle. The M Coupe is simply getting very little seat time lately and needs a new home.

The purest M car BMW has built since the E30 M3.

This is a very rare car. Only 1,815 were made total and only 37 of those are Imola Exterior & Interior.

MORE INFO:

You can see dozens of pictures of the car here: http://MZ4Coupe.com

The car is up for sale at eBay ( http://ow.ly/ffNxk )with a reserve price that is lower than my asking price. I will end the eBay auction early only/before if the reserve has not been met yet.

I am asking $33,000 for the M Coupe including everything listed above. I think that it is a fair price, but will listen to all reasonable offers.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions, I will get back to you promptly.

Hey Jeff,

I don't recall what the current offset is, I had custom spacers done to fit these wheels.

Do you have any pictures of the 315/30/18 Hoosier A6 mounted in the back? I always though you needed to modify the rear fenders to make something like that fit in the back

...wasn't sure.

I absolutely love this car, it will be a great pickup for someone

.....but that is one thing I'd change; we see far too many JDM (name your brand) rear cannons around here.

@Beedub @Daemonblitz @inTgr8r Thanks!

On the exhaust: My objective was to save weight. The 5Zigen Cans are Stainless and high quality. I was concerned with the look because the bumper openings would not follow the round contour of the exhaust tips, but it came out looking great IMHO.

315/30/18: Hey @ZStig, two minor things were modified because the tire would rub (slightly) against the inner fender liner (plack plastic), so I cut that, following the tire's contour and it looks stock. That inner fender liner was not even flush with the car's body.

I also pulled the outer fender lip a bit. Also looks stock.

The real difficult part was getting the offsets just right

The auction will end later today and the reserve is not too far away.

Here's the link: http://goo.gl/Ngxe3

Like I wrote above, I will end the auction early if I accept a reasonable offer before the auction hits the reserve. The reserve is not too far BTW.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks @losingmylycosa

The auction ended and I relisted the M Coupe. Here's the link: http://goo.gl/lhDFl

The eBay auction differs a bit with the original description posted here (see my original post). The difference is on the wheel & tire set - instead of 2 sets, I am also offering the car with one set of 18x8.5 and 18x10 Enkei NT03+M - my asking price with that setup is $31K

I am open to reasonable offers

Thanks for looking

awesome info, and encouraging that I can fit 315s in without cutting and flaring the render. I see the minor fender pull in that pic.

So the rears are 10.5 et 22 right?

Hope you all had a great Turkey Day!

For those considering this M Coupe, a note about the S54 Engine: This engine has been pampered by me its entire life - I broke it in exactly as suggested by BMW (requires LOTS of patience), and has always been properly warmed-up. Not to mention always having fresh oil/filter.

I consider (and many others too) a proper warmup process vital for the S54 engine's longevity and performance. A proper warm-up includes all drivetrain components (sitting in idle won't warm-up transmission etc).

My intention was to keep this car forever, and I took care of it with that in mind - unlike many leased or multiple-owner M Coupes.

Here's the eBay auction link: http://goo.gl/lhDFl
