Just bought my 03 Z4 and I need to do some maintenance.....

I need to change the brake pads on the rear. The brake pad light is on and the seller said it was the rears. Does autozone carry good ones? I felt the rotors and they didn't feel too bad. Car has 75k miles on it, but it is super clean. I need to do an oil change also. I assume 5w30 mobil one is ok. I need to see if I can get the oil filter locally or is it dealer item?

try these for pads: http://store.zeckhausen.com/catalog/...h=3_79_150_238 . i just switched and brake dust is MINIMAL now. equal to or slightly better performance than stock. my mechanic said it was a pretty straight forward install.

The bmw parts department told me I can re-use the brake wear sensor if it isnt damaged. I will find out. I should be fine to do it. I just want some kinds of pics to refer to.

if its lit, then the sensor is no longer good

oil change, u might want to get 36mm socket and 7 quarts of 0w-40 and a oil filter from your local auto parts store

I have the 36mm and the oil filter already, but I was going to get 5w30. So I should get 0w40 instead.

I changed my rear brake pads which were really low, but I noticed the rear brake wear sensor wasn't even scratched. Is it possible that the close proximity to the rotor cause it to set the warning light off? So I just reconnected it to the new pad. Will the light go out after a while?
